It was a joke for God's sake. He clearly said it was 5 seconds later. The media just conveniently edited that part out.

What is your love for Kiffin? I am curious as to what he has done to make you always take up for him every single time someone has something to say negative about him? I want to know exactly what you think he did here that helped us.

While SGM is all over Kiffin's chode (constantly), Kiffin had an assload of swagger. He was a young guy's coach. He was awesome when he was here. He broke rules. I ate it up. His tenure rocked, until he left. Now we seem to have a true G, and I am all for that. So I can see both sides.

Florida's a train wreck, Alabama and LSU are mini-NFL teams, Auburn will stumble, Tennessee's a sleeper and watch out for Georgia.

Talking SEC football with CBS analyst Gary Danielson | al.com

Q. And how about some of the others?
A. Arkansas is a legitimate team. Georgia, a lot of pressure is on them. And to me, Tennessee is going to make a vast improvement this year. That's a team to really watch. More of the same! You can't get any better than this. I call it college competition at the highest level.

Q. Is there a sleeper in the conference this year like Auburn was last year?
A. The schedule really favors Georgia. They do not play LSU and Alabama. They play South Carolina at home in a game they have to win. They've got the most experienced quarterback in the league. They're bigger, stronger, hungrier. It's the second year of kind of a Nick Saban-disciple defense. They've recruited to it. They should be better. And I think Tennessee is the sleeper. I've got great respect for what the Tennessee coaching staff and (offensive coordinator) Jim Chaney and everyone involved there is doing. Who knows where that team is going to come from? It could be anybody. You can't even say Georgia is a sleeper.

My brain would probably implode from happiness if that were to happen.

I know that Gus has a new gig with the Pac 12 but if CBS were to fork over the money when Verne retires, would he bite?

By love, do you mean by being mentioned in an article about the SEC?
Because that article was mostly about Alabama, Florida, and LSU.

I thought this was gonna be about Gary Danielson finally getting some love, perhaps from Verne. Bet he'd make Gary wear a Tebow jersey...

Yes the good news is no matter who is playing on CBS, Verne will always manage to talk about his undying love for Tebow for at least one whole quarter.

I think Florida will have huge chemistry problems from the transition, but I don't think we will get to reap those benefits in September.

I'm with you. I think Florida will struggle early, but I can't ever mark this down in my head as a victory after 6 straight defeats. I can't wait to be pleasantly suprised though.

Some here say Danielson's reference to the Gators' "train wreck" is about last year's team. You don't need Danielson to tell you what is obvious.

They hire a 0-0 HC who's defense lost 5 of its last 6 and went 5-7. And with as many 5 and 4 star recruits as Florida has. And in the lowly Big 12. He admits he can't coach offense and hires Charlie Weis, who promptly trashes an offense that has won 10 games a year for 20 years and 3 NCs.

Mmmm.

I hear the train a comin......

I've personally always though danielson was a cocky prick myself. Who asked him any questions about his nfl career in that interview anyway... nobody!! Id rather mute the tv when I watch cbs games.

Better than that mouth breather Bob Davie, IMO.
