Unbelievably, Sport Talk in Chattanooga had a trivia question yesterday about the last time the Vols were favored vs the Gators.

1992.

You can fact check it or whatever, but it was Sport Talk and they know their stuff. So I say are you kidding me!!! It's been a quarter of a century since the last time UT was favored in this matchup. Let that sink in, then...

Peyton Manning and Tee Martin were not once favored over UF.

Wow.

Those 90's Florida teams were ridiculous. Probably would have won more than one national championship if their schedule wasn't so hard.

Tennessee will break the string when heavy underdog. I'm not going to let Saturday mess up my football.

Im 99.9% positive Tennessee opened as favorites in 12,14,15

Maybe 14 and 15? But, they were basically toss-up games. Plus of minus a point or two either way.

The radio station may be right. This is probably the first time we have been a heavy favorite since 1992.

The OP said the first time the Vols had been favored period, with that being said Tennessee was a 7 point Favorite in 2012

Looks like we opened as 1.5 dogs at home in 2014 and money moved our way to 1.5 favorite.

In 2015 looks like we were either 3 point dogs or even line. Something like that.

Either way Vegas was spot on with their lines last 2 years we have just been the 1 point losers both times.

I remember their championship game against Nebraska. NOT even close. The Nebraska defensive & offensive line dominated Florida's lines.
Spurrier had no answers. His little fun & gun didn't work that night.

Not many teams could stop those roided up Nebraska teams.

So far, we know we were favored in '12, '14, and '15. I'm thinking we were favored in '02, and surely in '03 as well. What about '99? I'm sure it was pretty close.

We were a seven point favorite with Dooley coaching?

Are u drunk?

HAHA, 2012 college gameday, flying high after blowing NC State out. Ended up being a miserable day, on a lighter note Bray threw at Dooley in the 4th that was pretty funny.

OK so heres the real deal

Got some #'s for you as we begin this Tuesday. ESPN's Chris Low had a great # last night on Twitter. This is the 1st time Tennessee opened as a touchdown favorite against Florida since the SEC split in divisions in 1992. This is called a can't lose football game. More on that in a second.

A two-point spread, up or down, is not a toss-up game. Points mean things to Vegas....

Well, UT didn't fare much better against them.

Favored after we won in Atlanta over NC State. That's why we were especially done with Dooley since offensively we should have piled on the points. But i wonder if your talk show doesn't mean favored wire to wire. There have been years a team is favored and the closer to kickoff a few points swing the other way due to betting on the one team which can change who is favored at the end.
