The number of threads about this game stands as testament to the importance of Tennessee vs. Alabama.

The first UT/UA game I went to was 1982 - the end of 12 years of frustration and the end of the Bear era at Alabama. Man - what a party that was.

Since then, we've seen streaks. I moved to Alabama in 1999 and I was shocked at the attitude of Bama fans. They pretty much assumed UT was going to beat them. Coming from a history of being on the other side - I was shocked. But, they were right. UT had beaten them and was going to beat them until 2002.

The game is huge. Records and stats mean nothing. The prevailing attitude in Alabama is that UT will win. Let's hope that attitude is right!

Bailing out early on a party tonight, so I can get up and watch the game. They understand since they're huge Hawaii football fans. They said they'd be rooting for UT tomorrow since Hawaii gave Bammer all they could handle to start the season, so we have some noise coming from across the ocean!

Hawaii beat the Tide a couple years ago but according to folks around here - it was bad officiating... What a surprise:blink:

I guess it's too late to give the "don't get too cocky" speech, so before I walk out the door partaking in my journey to Knoxville, I'll just say this one last time...

GO VOLS

BEAT BAMA

Vols balanced offense confuses Bama. Ainge has huge day, becuase I think Bama is focused on stopping the run. Betting they will stack the box and give the Vols a lot of single coverage looks.
