Final Thoughts and (real) predictions for tenn-osu

I just don't think that statement is accurate. Jajuan has said more than once that he feels he has to shoot the 3 and hopefully make them in order to get Lofton more open looks. When Jajuan gets hot, they can't focus on Lofton as much.

That and I don't think Jajuan is the jealous type.

really? jajuan has always seemed like that type of person to me...like when lofton makes an unbelievble shot, jajuan comes back and tries to do the same, but terribley fails...

I think the most obvious thing is to get Lofton going. If he doesnt get his 20+ then we wont have a chance against OSU.

If Lofton gets going then JaJuan will have to have a somewhat decent game and then Wayne Chism and Ryan Childress will have to hit some threes as well.

We also have to force a lot of turnovers and dictate the pace from the start of the game.

Get ODEN in Foul Trouble. Go Right at him if you have to.

Also, OSU will exploit our weakness - that is not moving fast enough to defend the screen. Time after Time UVA or some other team shot 3's over us because we could not defend the screen thus leaving them wide open.

Saying this again.... DEFEND THE SCREEN! PUT A HAND UP WHEN HE'S SHOOTING!

I believe this is our most logical shot at winning! If they can get Oden frustrated, it will take him completely out of his game. Unfortunately, I've seen way too many Ohio State games this year where I live. But what I have seen is that he doesn't react well whenever people keep coming at him. Go after him enough, and sooner or later he'll go into the "Hack-a-Shaq" defense like he did last weekend. Xavier showed everyone that it was possible. I think he will be watched very close by the refs after that stupid comment he made.

Second, someone already said it on here a few days ago, God help a team whenever Coach Pearl gets a second chance at them in the same season. He will, in my opinion, figure out a way to beat OSU. Whether or not the execution is there is a different story.

Remember, the Vols were never supposed to be in this situation, so they have nothing to lose. Ohio State on the other hand, has everything to lose! No matter who wins, I think this game will stay in the 60's.

My Pick:
UT-65
OSU-62

It's gotta be a close one either way. It took a shot with a few seconds remaining for them to beat us on their home court!!! Although, you never know which Vol team will show up when they are away from TBA. Speaking of TBA, I ordered my seats today!! Anyone else?

I may be stupid for thinking that this may be a concern, but I really don't like the idea of playing this game in a dome. We all know how we shoot when we play in the Georgia Dome. That being said, OSU scraped by with a win over Xavier. We are a much much better team than Xavier. If we can keep it close for 35 minutes, then I take Pearl out coaching Matta and a W for our beloved Vols.

Tennessee-85
OSU-81

Tennessee wins and Bruce is shocked when Lofton dunks

Speaking of dunking...

Has Jajuan dunked lately? It seems like everytime he has a fast break, he lays it in....I'm sure he's dunked, but none are coming to mind since he missed that dunk he tossed off the backboard against SC.

That didn't work out so well against South Carolina or LSU.

I still think we need to shoot very well, and it wouldn't hurt if Oden came down with a case of the flu (nothing serious, mind you--just a 24 hour virus that makes him feel unable to dunk, rebound, or block shots.)

Vols-75
Bucs-69

Oden will get frustrated and foul out with about 5 minutes remaining and the Vols finish the game on a 13-2 run to win.

i am amazed at how many people are predicting it to be a high scoring game with ohio st pulling it off. seriously guys, if the game gets into the 80s, ohio st has vitually no chance at winning. they can't run with us

not counting the overtime game against Xavier, Ohio St. is 1-3 in games in which they allow 70 or more points this year.

tUT 78
OSU (Ohio State, not Oklahoma State) 68

Oden will get tired and pissy. He will push Jordan Howell into the 3rd row. Vols win.

Haven't looked it up myself, but someone told me on Monday that tOSU averages 48 ppg on neutral courts. And as far as the dome affecting shooters, I heard on the radio this morning that the Alamo Dome is not laid out like a traditional dome, more squared off and no bright-white ceiling; sort of like a large gym. I guess we'll see tonight -

UT - 86
tOSU - 70
