I love the new site, but I can't figure out how to make a poll. Maybe someone can help me.

I just wanted to know where this board stands on the team's likely end result. I've started at 5-7, and as bad as I want to change that, I'm afraid the only reason I've even thought about it is because the hype handed me the most beautifully orange-tinted glasses I've ever laid eyes on. The orange kool aid is also some of the best I've tasted.

I think Tennessee finishes anywhere between 5-7 and 7-5, but so people won't say I'm taking the easy way out, I'll say 5-7. I think the Missouri and Florida games are the kickers.

WV - L
ETSU - W
UTEP - W
Florida - Swing
Georgia - L
Auburn - L
Bammer - L
SC - L
Charlotte - W
Kentucky - W
Missouri - Swing
Vanderbilt-W

Great minds think alike!!! I got us at 5 - 7 this season UNLESS someone gives us a game.
Next year, I think we kick a- - though and challenge UGA for East or with a couple of good breaks, we will make it to the SECCG......

Yeah, I don't think the final record this year should sway anyone from being positive about the future. The 2nd year is much more telling about what the future holds.

Urby won a natty his second year at Florida.
Kirby played for and ALMOST won a natty his second year.
Saban won the west his second year at Bama.
Gene Chizik (lol) won a natty his second year
Bob Stoops won a natty his second year
Jim Tressel won a natty his second year

No, we won't win a national championship in year two of Pruitt, but I absolutely think it's possible Tennessee wins the East or at least competes strongly for it.

I'm gonna stick with 6-6 as I've predicted all summer. But I may change it later in "The **Official** Final Preseason Prediction Thread."

We may have gone 4-8 last year, but I'd chalk that up to coaching and motivation. The team had no fire.

Talent is there. There are only three games I'd consider sure-fire losses (Bama, Auburn, UGA) and Bama and Auburn have some questions.

I'd say we end up 8-4, with some first year coaching hiccups along the way.

I’ve never thought we’d lose to WV.

It just seems to me Dana has gotten excuses ready early like a coach who hasn’t prepared his team. In nearly every game that was note worthy they barely survived. I don’t think they’ll handle us up front and we’ll run the ball with success. I expect Frjend and his monsters to lean on them for 3 quarters and then really hurt them late in the heat.

27-20 Vols, the pressure is turned up a little more on Dana

ESTU, UTEP: With solid coaches and the right preparation these should be nothing more than tune ups for Florida.

Vols Win, fans no longer sit on the edge of their seats against inferior opponents.

Florida, Pruitt has his first fan test:

The build up to this game should be exciting and electric. Both school have new coaches and staffs. Home cooking gets the edge in an instant classic and the Gators grumble.

Vols, in a burner: 24-20

Georgia, lets keep them off 50:

We all remember what happened last season. Tennessee was under prepared and under manned. The Dogs are loaded and won’t be going away anytime soon. Tennessee gets it closer but still get thumped.

Georgia, 30-14.

Alabama and Auburn, the swing

First Auburn, I’m torn I can see the Vols stealing another game they probably shouldn’t. Controlling the ground game and clock will be important to getting the win. Tennessee has the talent to do it but experience is a concern. I believe it’s at Jordan Haire and it’ll be hostile. IF they play assignment football and control the ground they’ll win. On the other hand, it could get ugly fast. Third tough game in a 4 game stretch the Vols will beat up. Tennessee has a history of not tackling well and being out of position. If that continues it’ll be over in a hurry with Auburns offensive attack.

Vols, in a stunner 23-20

Alabama, Pruitt/Saban 1

The class of the SEC for years now the Tide are better at every position across the board. The end of a brutal 4 game stretch is here for the Vols. The Vols play well and ride the tide well early but fall late .
Alabama, 35-14

South Carolina, a loss avenged

Well rested and eager to get the season back on track Trey Smith forces his will on the game cocks. Helping the Vols run for 100+. The defense steps up in a big way to control and contain the gamecocks. Pruitt establishes early that he is better than Muschamp and the Vols pull away keeping the foot on the gas.

Vols, 38-21

Charlotte, I wonder how much they’ll be paid to be taken to the woodshed.

Vols, 60-6

Kentucky, Missouri, and Vandy

The only real cautious game in the final stretch of the season is Missouri. With plenty of weapons and a seasoned QB they have the potential to score fast. Lock being the 4 highly rated QB the Vols will face can make all the throws nfL scouts drool over. The wildcard here is Dooley and his lack of imagination. Another solid ground game from Helton and the Vols control the front.

Vols win, Dooley fired.

Vandy and Kentucky, Pruitt Doesent lose and Fulmer is smiling

A combined score of 70-24

tempted to sip the KoolAid and knock it up to 5 wins. I suspect the team has injury issues lurking with those players who have stayed hurt in the past that are being covered up, which the staff has every right to do. So I will stay at 4, because I'm not going to blindly trust that the qb situation is stable. We should know about that by halftime tomorrow if not sooner. 4-8 it is.

Four wins?

Ok. Assuming we beat all our cupcakes, you think we will only manage one of Mizzou, Vandy, Kentucky which are all already much weaker than last season?

There's no Kool Aid needed to expect improvement.

Or it could be that the main reason we had so many injuries the last few years has more to do with some guy who's washing windows in Tuscaloosa than it does with the players themselves

I'm guessing we win 2 of the swing games. 3 if we are healthy for Vandy. So either 6-6 ot 7-5.

I think Vanderbilt goes 3-9 and 0-8 in the SEC. Vandy wont be hanging with anyone in the SEC and it will cost Derek Mason his job.

Start off the Pruitt era by dominating Florida, but then drop 4 in a row.
Team rebounds with good win against Charlotte, but then slips up in one of the last three...wasn't real sure which one of the three.
Season ends 7-5, go to a decent bowl game and knock the snot out of some Big Ten school again so my off season here in Indiana isn't so miserable...HAHAHA

Oh they aren't a scary team. We're just thin in key places. After ther last couple years it's hard to imagine we'll be healthy that late in the season. If we are I think we run away with that game.
