Final Pre-Bowl CFP Ranking

Florida is 10-3, we are 8-4. Florida won the east and beat us. Can't see us ranked higher than them.

Good think about the college football playoff committee is they don't go by the old thinking of the AP and coaches poll which focused just on the W/L record rather than how you look.

Florida may be 10-3 and beat us in September but we're the much better team right now.

Dont forget the AP's love affair with ND. I think theyve been ranked with 5 losses following bowl season before. Absurd

In fairness to ND (I know, they barely deserve it, heh), they're not among the 5-loss teams who have been ranked in the past two decades:

2014 -- Auburn
2012 -- Michigan
2010 -- USC
2009 -- Clemson
2005 -- FSU
2003 -- Florida
2001 -- Georgia Tech
1999 -- Texas and Purdue (only recent year with two of them!)

I think a lot of people forget the Playoff committee looks at the football teams are playing now and not so much what happened in September. We lost to Florida by 1 at Florida and have won 5 straight. Wouldn't be surprised to see them ranked below us at all unlikely, but they could justify it. Plus, we put up a better fight against Bama then they did.

The bigger story could be Northwestern being ranked higher than Michigan... hopefully we get Michigan.

UF went into yesterday's game with a back up QB that can't pass and a kicker that can't kick. Even with that set up they still gave Bama all they could handle and beat the spread. Imagine how good we would be if we played Bama with out Dobbs and Medley

That is why teams are ranked week to week, injuries are taken into consideration.

Looks like we slid in at #23 on the cfp website! Nice jobs VOLS...now we just gotta go down to FL and show Northwestern who is boss and we might even break into top 20 by the end of this thing

What worries me is we have really only beat one decent team. We won 5 in a row against reallly bad teams.
We put points on and outrushed Bammer at Tuscaloser, we alright, calm down little feller.

Let's hope our guys are healthy and prepared like they were against Iowa. A win gets them into the T-20, due to the impending attrition through the bowl season. With a nice number of upsets, the Vols could conceivably wind up in the T-15. Winding up in the T-10 in recruiting could subsequently result in this. Just clobber NW and let the dice roll.
