Final INT TD return/possible ref blunder/rage party (merged)

When the whistle blows the play is dead. Tennessee may have scored and may not have. We would have had to score a TD because Palardy is a complete bust. It just sucks that ESPN is getting ready to bury us. We needed a bad call to beat Vandy.

False, Gordon was gone...untouchable when ref did whistle.

Look, it is not cheating at all. We didn't control how the refs called it.

However, I will say this, I have watched the player over and over again and it is very clear that the refs blows his whistle, puts his foot down and waves his arm to signal the play dead.

Why that wasn't seen on reply or acknowledged doesn't really matter.

In the end, Gordon picked the ball, stayed on his feet and returned it for a TD. Nothing would have changed that.

Vols win.

P.S. it feels very good to be on the right side of one of these.

It was a pick he wasn't down. No one was catching him regardless of the whistle. The play never was dead the whistle was premature. Right call. Game Over. Go Vols!

Ok so the whistle DID get blown, ok so what, it was blown by an official that said it was a FUMBLE recovered by a tennessee player thats knee was on the ground when he recovered the fumble.
Obviously that official did NOT see the actual play or was trying to keep vandys hopes alive. The vandy players continued the play as if there was no whistle as did the rest of the officiating crew and the outcome was a TD. The other officials probably decided to just ignore everything that 1 official said and did(whistling the play dead) once they saw the replay on the jumbotron and save their own jobs, rather than cover that 1's rearend and them all get fired.

Incredibly lame that you use an obviously blown call that was set right by instant replay as an example of "cheating" for UT. Again, hate it for you dores, but you will always be little brother. Deal with it.

If you watch the replay, none of the players, TN or Vandy heard the whistle anyway and all pursued as if there was no whistle and he still scored. So, the correct result was achieved in spite of the idiotic whistle no players heard. (Of course the TV mic's picked it up, they always do)

You still suck pretty good :hi:

How do you know he didn't call that timeout to keep TB and CJC from trying to force something and turning the ball over.

I think this is most likely what happened... They were about to go hail mary and he was like, woh there cowboys, let's not do something stupid to cost us the game.

Doesn't matter if he was down or not, the play stops on the whistle.

Okay lowtard - a basic of football is that you keep playing as long as the ball is moving. We will coach you slowwllyy. Do you know what a helmet is for?

It just irritates me that refs blow plays dead when Gordon was still standing....on both feet. Oh well, good game, we got the win, and contrary to what most of you think, it's not "cheating" it would've been "cheating" if Dooley slipped the refs a few Benjamins and said "The whistle came from the crowd." But regardless, I'm glad they ignored the whistle in the replay and didn't kick us in the nuts like they did in the Music City Bowl. No question in Tyler Bray's leadership. The team is so much more confident with him back there, and rightfully so! GBO!!! Suck it Franklin!

Needing a bad call to beat Vandy is inexcusable. This game set UT back further than any this season. It guaranteed so-called Coach Dooley at least one more year. If asked why he didn't shake Dooley's hand, Franklin should say, "I wasn't aware that they have coach."

I don't post much, but I've had enough of you. If you stop to think, you'll realize that it took a bad call (calling Gordon down) to LOSE to Vandy. The whistle is IRRELEVANT if the proper call is made to begin with. So unless you're comfortable making judgments about Dooley under these circumstances, try a different angle. Dooley might fail, but your anti-Dooley talk is boring when it lacks any intelligence.

I'm pissed. Our coaching staff is a pathetic joke. Dooley squanders timeouts, knows nothing about clock management, called a timeout to take a knee, so go ahead and celebrate Doolanders.

I'm glad your pissed. Now put on your helmet and knee pads, have mama wipe the drool from your chin, and go play in the sandbox. And remember that little talk we had about not eating poop.

I challenge anybody involved to take a lie detector. We benefitted from a bad call. If you celebrate this, you better never, ever speak of how Dooley really beat LSU or UNC.

I'll take one. If I say that you are a dip****, I challenge you to take a lie detector test to refute it. Dip****.

Yea the ref made a bad call for blowing the whistle. We already knew that.

Dooley did shake his hand, but there was a mob around Dooley and the camera's couldn't get the shot. It was real quick though.

We won despite an official's ignorance that would have worked unfairly against UT. The proper outcome was allowed to stand.
