Bobby Bowden didn't even have us ranked

Neither did Mack Brown or Hal Mumme. They thought an 8-4 Auburn team who didn't make the championship game should be at 19 and 18 but neither thought Tennessee deserved the top 25. Both are tools in my book and Bowden has developed a reputation for not liking Tennessee. For example the entire Brandon Warren thing. I guess it hurt his feelings when we whipped his rear end in the NCG in 98 and he hasn't gotten over it.

Bobby Bowden, Hal Mumme, Mike Riley and Mac Brown all didn't think the Vols belong in the final Top 25. Interesting.

we lost 4 football games, 3 of those very convincingly. Our late streak of wins had two relatively convincing wins and three cardiac style wins against other mediocre teams.

I can certainly understand the hesitation to rank us very highly.

Most coaches have assistants fill out the ballots for them.

Since Bobby Bowden doesn't hardly ever attend his teams practices anymore I seriously doubt he of all people would fill out his own ballot.

I was actually agreeing with you. . . in a weird way.

I was trying to say with that ". . . and Richt has UGA at #2, why does this suprise anyone that coaches think highly of their own team."

I should stop posting thoughts exactly as they form in my head. They are out of context.

Conference affiliations, and bais, look at Bob Stoops ballot. 3 big 12 teams in the top 4.

What sense does it make to use this poll to determine who plays in the National Championship? Obviously, many coaches don't take it seriously, or try to make a statement with their vote.
