Top 40 Ken Pom offense top 25 defense


Funny how I posted the list a few weeks ago and told folks the list would not be changing much. Only Duke dropped off the list. One of these 9 will win it all…so choose wisely!

Also shows how tough a our draw actually is with Creighton sitting there.

Creighton is a lot like us in that they looked incredible in most games but then had some games where they didn’t look like they knew how to play at all. With them it wasn’t against strong opponents, either; UNLV pounded them.

We are the only 2 seed to draw a team on that list prior to the elite 8 and only team that would need to beat two of these teams if seeds hold. Well along with Creighton.

A lot of “bracketologist” are from what I’ve seen. Idk how I feel about that though lol. If last Friday’s team shows up, we are toast.

Creighton is an efficient half court offensive team. They have a top 15 adjusted offensive efficiency while being 207th in tempo. They have a top 25 defense. They have a legitimate post that is very fundamentally sound. Nothing flashy about him but he plays efficiently most nights. They have what it takes to make a run especially if Baylor Scheierman gets hot. But they have the tendency to do what we do sometimes and flame out.

When the ball gets tipped it usually takes one day of the tournament before we all realise the SEC is overrated again. I hope I'm wrong this year but all the recent SEC hype has got me thinking this is about to happen again.

Yeah - I’d love for us to get all eight teams to the S16, but fully expect us to get two, maybe three. :)
