Final 2 commitments

Based purely on what I read here and on 247, I predict that the final two committments will be Korren Kirven and Quinshad Davis. I also believe that Robison will take Santos place if Santos heads to Austin (something that I just cannot see happening). :hi:

If this happens, this will be one of the best classes we've had on Rocky Top in almost a decade. Filling needs with great athletes and VFL!!! Go Vols!

Well really and truly Dooley is gonna except whoever wants to come he isn't gonna turn away Patterson or Davis or kirven or whever if he can get them all he will take them all And either take a scholership away from somebody on the team or except whatever the sec says but he is a lawyer he knows how to bend the rules and get around them bamer has 27 right now so I don't think saban is gonna say no Goldman u can't come or send another 5 str some where else? I thank that if Patterson Davis kirven and roberson want to commit he takes them all

You don't understand the rules. There's a reason why bama is able to sign more than 25 in class and there's a reason why we can't. That said I agree that Dooley would take all 3 if they all 3 want to be Vols but it's not as easy as taking a scholarship away from a player on the current roster. That would fall under the 85 limit rule.. not the 25/year rule and we can't backcount because Martin, Arnett, and everyone else attended fall classes.

I feel like I've heard the same a hundred times, that Bullard is back counted to the last class. That could be completely incorrect, but I know it's been said before.

It is completely incorrect. I know for a fact that if Bullard is placed on scholarship, he must count toward the 2012 class.

You are making the assumption that we don't lose anyone else. I think we do, and sign more than 2 new people.

I'm not assuming anything. It doesn't matter if we lose anyone or not. If Bullard is placed on scholarship, he must count toward the 2012 class. If we do lose someone, yes we will have room for more than 2 people but Bullard must still count toward the 2012 class.

As of now, we have 2 spots remaining. If Santos leaves, we will have 3. If Santos and playerX leaves, we will have 4.

Kicking game can win or lose entire games on one play. The thought of treating a kicker or punter differently and not giving them a scholarship or the advantage of an OV is truly mind blowing. How many games could have been won or would have been lost in the past few years because of a field goal kicker.

It's what we did to both O'Connor's from Halls. Had monster legs...multiple fg's from over 50 each year. We recruited Logan, the younger brother, really hard: letters every week, visits, in home, and then asked him to walk on signing week. He didn't go to UT, and we ended up with Daniel Lincoln. We all know how that wound up for us.

if these stats are correct it actually worked out much better for UT

Appears to me that CDD is taking a different route on kickers than Fulmer. I see that as being on top of things since a team can win or lose on a missed FG or extra point, a botched punt, or short KO's.

I think somebody once said, "Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made."

I just can't remember where I heard it...

Would be awesome, but i wish we could take Briscoe, too. I'd be happy to substitute Patterson for. Davis, too.

He does. He did. That is true. All per posters on VN that attended the game with posts in the recruiting forum.

Next.

I watched the East/West All Star game he was in. He had one kick in the endzone and the rest to the 10. Punting wasn't any better, i think one went for 25 yards. Might have had an off day but he looked horrible.

Kirven (Briscoe as backup), Patterson (Davis as backup), Robison if Santos flips. I really don't see us taking Patterson and Davis.
