In reading the pre-season tea leaves, I find it very uplifting that a man from Lenior City was attacked by an alligator on a Florida golf course but was able to successfully defend himself. It's a SIGN!

Personally, I think it means we win by at least 10 this fall.

If that is how you arrive at picking the results of athletic events, I strongly urge you never to go anywhere near Las Vegas, Vevada.

As to Vevada, that's a function of my flinching in morbid fear every time I think about the place and the way it thrashes me about until I am senseless every time I go out there.

As to the one-eyed Gator, everyone of course is thinking about the Happy Gilmour alligator that bit off the one guy's hand. Life imitating art, I suppose.

But let this be a lesson to you. If your girlfriend has a small yapping dog that you hate, suggest a trip to Florida in the late spring or early summer. Maybe a walk around the lake ....

Going to try to get out this weekend. Getting to be that time of year you have to tee it up by 9 a.m. or you get rained out before you finish. The good thing is its the cheap time of year to play. The bad news is everyone wants to, and everyone knows its going to rain.

I think Florida is going to be a little disappointed this year. I sense a very Zooklike showing.

Folks would be very unhappy with that. It just seems like we ought to be contending again. So much talent. Coaches and fanbase enthused. Tickets are impossible.

Florida may not contend this year, but the Gators will be tough next year.

Tennessee has a good opprotunity to win the east this year and must take advantage of it.

The next three years look to have Tennessee and Florida loaded with talent both being top 10 quality teams IMO.

Just don't know about Georgia right now. They look to improve but the just seem to be in a similar decline that both Florida and Tennessee faced after the late 90's.

This feels like a strange year coming up in the SEC East. Honestly, I think you can make a reasonable argument why any of the usual three suspects should win the division.

That said, UF ain't gonna lose five games. UT has a shot because the defense will still be green. I don't like Auburn's chances in Gainesville as well as ours. At LSU will be tough. UGA/UF ought to be a fairly even matchup this year, but given the history in that series, I'll believe UGA can win when I see it. The Cocks and FSU will both be legitimate challenges, but by then the Gators will have been through the teeth of the SEC schedule and the defense will have grown up a lot.

10-2, with a loss in Baton Rouge and one more to either UT, Auburn, or UGA (in that order of probability).

You know I can tell you a little tale about a blowout bowl win, high expectations, tons of talent, and a myriad of off season problems, all of which become a big factor or are a big indicator of a program's attitude. Florida caught alot of breaks last year with a much more mature team that was able to capitalize on others missed opportunities, stumbles, and at times downright luck. I don't see a 5-6 coming, but I think Florida is a long shot for the NC and IMO not gonna even make the SEC CG. 3-5 loses and that is just based on both the defensive problems they are going to have, but mostly on a gut feeling that the gators a feeling a little too good about themselves for next year.
