Persian can you give me a layman's take on workrate and pace? I hate the video era where I need to see a 12:00 video rather than read a paragraph in a minute
Well workrate basically means how "aggressive they are in respective styles". For example, dani alves has high attack work rate and low defense work rate. Considering he's a Defender, that's not ideal because other teams are going to destroy that side of the field on counters because dani alves will always try to push forward offensively. Everyone wants an attacker with
High attack rate and defenders with high defense rate. For midfielders, it just depends what your strategy is. I run a 4-3-3 and I have 3 midfielders. My two outside mids have high attack work rate with medium defense work rate and my center mid has medium attack and high def workrate. It seems to balance itself out. But yeah try to avoid defenders with low defense work rates or
Attackers with low attacking workrates because when your countering, your striker with low attacking work rate will be no where to be found. The only time he would be in position is if you really slow and methodical offensively and don't mind passing 20 times until you feel like everyone is in position to make a move.
With pace, it's basically mixture of sprint speed and acceleration. Pace is probably 1 of the most if not the most important attribute on fut. It is normally ideal to have fast left backs and right backs as well as fast LM/LW, RW/RM ect. You need fast guys on the edges to blow pass defenses and prevent offenses from blowing past you. Center mids and center backs don't need to be fast but it's preferable if they aren't less than 60 pace. And if they are, their position has to be 90+ and with a lot of strength. But for defenders it ideal for them to hVe high defense work rate with at least 70 pace and 80+ def and heading. But that's pretty ideal, for a center mid it's ideal to have great dribbling and passing with above average shooting or defending depending on their exact position or you use them. And for strikers, pace is always a plus but if your guys has 95 pace but is super weak and gets shrugged off every time he gets touched, it's really not worth it. It also depends if you are using 2 strikers or 1 striker. If your using one striker a popular strategy would be to run across the sideline and cross to him and head it for a
Goal. It really depends how you run your offense. But basically, pace alone the edges is ALWAYS a must.
