Ferguson Riots

What happens if the police decide to riot because one of their own got vigilanty justice? Will the masses that are preparing to riot line up to defend their local community and businesses? Yeah I know......this would never happen!

Not smart. Never bring a knife to a gun fight.

Well, a knife probably trumps harsh language and tight quarters like a train even the odds a good bit. Still, a gun would likely have a better intimidation factor. OTOH having to fire a gun in a crowded train would be a nightmare regarding collateral damage liability.

Best bet is have your situational awareness cranked up to 11 and try like hell to avoid confrontation.

Who got vigilante justice?

Read carefully, it's a "what if?" scenario. What I would call vigilante justice is if the PO is charged in spite of overwhelming evidence otherwise, just to pacify the potential rioters. Give them what they want in order to save other lives and millions of $$ in damages.

I'm not saying that if charges are brought that this is what happened! There could indeed be evidence that the PO is guilty.

i realize this is probably sarcasm, but if some random guy goes off on the train i am hitting the deck, however if someone targets me specifically they will be getting close and a knife will be much easier to use.

until i can figure out a way to carry my minigun around I would have to reload my firearm at some point when dealing with a mob, and as soon as that happens its game over. so knife vs gun here wont matter too much.

On Monday, CNN interviewed a number of people in the town who recently purchased weapons and received training at a local shooting range.

A local gun merchant told CNN customers bought 100 guns over the weekend. In nearby Bridgeton, the manager of a shooting range said gun sales are up 40 to 50% as of last week. Most of the weapons are home defense shotguns.

Glad people are exercising their 2nd Amendment rights but this could be a nightmare. First time gun owners already on edge, and little to no training, may have itchy trigger fingers and could further inflame tensions.

Also I'm interested in hearing what the Governor has to say about LEO plans. Hope he doesn't concede anything.

The Supreme Court has ruled police have no legal responsibility to protect citizens. You should be armed and trained on how to use a firearm for your own protection. Don't rely on the police to save you in time of trouble. The mayor should have his peepee whacked saying it is frighting the citizens are arming themselves. It is your civic duty to be armed, trained, and ready.

For those who want to watch the Governor;

The fact they have to have an announcement of the law enforcement response to the announcement of the GJ tells you which way this is going to go.

These riots will make the Rodney King riots look like a walk in the park. Governor Nixon started on with a bunch of bleeding heart stuff about social change and job programs. He should have just said people that come out to riot will be stopped

I saw this. I found the comment about buying a bigger gun because it had a bigger magazine in case there was "a John Wayne shootout" a particularly damning comment for you NRA types.

The ridiculous overly romanticized vision people have of shooting someone, like in the movies, is far and away the biggest reason we have the gun disaster we have in this country.

It is not, I repeat NOT, glamorous to shoot and kill someone.

I would encourage the people who are at risk in this should buy pistols and rifles. I'm going to join the NRA,i'm a believer in the 2nd amendment.

I don't think you'll find someone on here that believes it is glamorous to shoot someone but if Its me or him/her, I'm gonna have hot lead on my side

I have not heard anybody state this. most of us pushing for guns are using it as PDWs not as assault weapons, yes this includes buying AR15s and the like. we don't support gun rights because Hollywood says its cool, we support it because it is our right to have them, and our right and duty to protect ourselves, loved ones and this nation.

just curious but what type of anti gun nut are you? no to them in general (amongst the general population)? no weapons above semi-automatic? no weapons larger than a certain caliber? Hand guns only?

and don't go 'in a perfect world' on me.

LG doesn't like handguns actually.

When the Molotov cocktails come out flying, it will be time for the water cannons to put out the fire.
