Were there marks on Brown's hands indicating he struck the officer prior to being shot?

That's why Holder is going there. That's why the federal autopsy.

The state and local officials are telling everyone in the chain of command that this is gong nowhere. The Feds, and black AG, are the only hope of keeping the reaction in any sense under control.

If by that you mean he is putting a sympathetic face on a no indictment, in the eyes of that community, what's wrong with that?

Think about it. They are turning this over to the grand jury to decide. Multiple witnesses support the officer. Forensics support the officer. Everyone knows what's coming.

So Holder comes down to let the community know the process was fair.

I applaud your objectivity in this matter, but you are looking at the absolute best case scenario here.

Maybe, but I also believe it's to show his (& the president's) support for the black community. To let them know, "we're here for you". I say that in the most non racist way possible over the internet, but I believe there is some truth to it. I'm okay with it, but think it's sad that it has to happen.

Objectivity wasn't the word I was looking for. I was looking for Optimism. LG is being highly optimistic here that justice will be done.

Sure it can. This could take a long time.

I'm just speculating based primarily on the notion that 12 black people are going to come into the grand jury and tell them Brown was attacking the officer. And that the officer is bandaged up from his injuries.

If that is what's gong to go on, then I'd expect state and federal officials to be getting ready in every sense.
