This was my thinking as well. While I personally wouldn't ride through Ferguson yelling go back to Africa and F' y'all I couldn't help but envision Rex Kramer Danger Seeker.

You're trying too hard. Never thought I'd see the day that a guy calling himself Sam Rebel would pull the race card. Anyhow, most of the one liner's on here are race neutral, but a large majority of the actors being ridiculed are AA, so making fun of stupid antics by AA's is prohibited? Stupid is stupid. imo of course.

Everything is allowed. I'm not the police. I won't shoot you or your dog if you disagree with me. I'm just encouraging smarter conversation without racially tinted animus. Seems you aren't particularly interested in that. Color me shocked: a cop that isn't interested in other people's opinions.

Ever seen the Amazing Racist clips? Guy goes into a dry cleaners in South Central and drops off his Klan robe and hat. It went over about how you'd expect it to.

In another he's pumping gas wearing a klan robe in the middle of the ghetto. All for comedy, guy had balls.

I have.....I saw him pick up a truck load of Mexicans and drive them to the INS office. It's a miracle he hasn't had the crap beaten out of him or worse lol.

Crime? Extremely narrow range. I am aware of one case (I was not involved) where police had a guy in custody, knew of threats he was making to kill his wife when he got out, then mistakenly released him and did not warn her that he was going to be released. But that's about it.

The cases usually arise in a negligence setting. Examples I am aware of:

1) Woman's husband goes fishing on a lake, does not return when he says he would, she calls police. Officer shows up and promises to go look for him, but then does nothing. Husband of course drowns. The reasoning there is that the promise to a specific person to go look for the husband caused her to rely on that and not go look or call someone else.

2) Fender bender, officer tells person to stand on grassy side of the road, gets hit.

3) Woman not seen by her neighbor for a few days, calls police. Police go on and find woman on sofa, with labored breathing, does not respond to the officers. They tell the neighbor not to worry about it, she's asleep. The lady dies and the claim is that officers assured neighbor the lady was okay, causing her not to call for medical help.

In each of these cases, it is a specific promise or direction to a specific person, that arguably causes the risk.

Saying generally, our duty is to protect and serve, does not mean that if they fail in that duty you can sue them.

Like I say, I don't know if Missouri has some nuance to their own state tort law, they very well might. But it is hard to imagine because, otherwise, it just makes the police a societal insurer for every criminal act and that is not workable.

Maybe it's because the word "rebel" has nothing to do with race, except in a narrow-view historical context.
