Ferguson Riots

If he is a reputable expert as is being portrayed, I would hope he would not want to blow his whole career on one case.

IF facts are presented to oppose those currently, obviously I would change my mind.

I'd be willing to bet the independent autopsy will show otherwise(surprise! NOT).

That is my whole point. Facts matter to most people and it looks like they have picked the wrong case to make a stand.

Probably not the picture of Michael Brown the media will be using. Just saying.

real alter boy huh

So I watched a number of different news shows today. Saw interviews of Al Sharpton, John Lewis, the current head of the NAACP, among other various black "leaders". Pretty much all said the same thing...
  • the Ferguson PD needs race and sensitivity training
  • the Ferguson PD incited the riots and looting
  • they need to hire more blacks in the Ferguson PD (currently only 4 even though blacks make up about 75+ % of the population)

What I didn't hear from any of the black "leaders"...
  • was any language whatsoever calling for the people to calm down
  • telling them that looting and destroying property is wrong and does not help
  • suggesting that everyone should wait for the facts to come out
  • in fact, none of them even talked about all of the violent behavior

And ftr... if this is the way the vast majority of the young black men in Ferguson respond, maybe they aren't the best candidates to become LEO's (and quite likely they are not even interested)... but that doesn't seem to matter to those who are "crying for change" but seem reluctant to do anything to impact change.

End rant.

I would think so if you are caught out pass the curfew. They have to act on the curfew.

The way Captain Ron Johnson gave his interview last night, they weren't planning on enforcing the curfew until they received the call out of shots fired and someone being shot.

Maybe
lulz
Perhaps, but if the applicants aren't putting in for the jobs, who is to blame?

You won't
Obviously not, but you think they will speak to an end of it?
Again, you won't because it would destroy their chances of getting on TV
Because it's "justified"

The police chief made a huge mistake in releasing the store video when he did. By releasing it the same day they identified the officer, and then having to admit the officer did not know about the robbery, he gave the Brown fans ammunition to claim that the robbery is totally irrelevant.

The video is very much relevant to Brown's reaction to the officer. I guarantee you that he and his friend shared some "oh crap" whispers as the officer pulled up to them.

But now it looks like the tape was released as character assassination and has really limited it's significance.

I see what you're trying to do (and I know which side of this you are on) but do you honestly think if the video was released that day or a month from now it would be any different?

The NAACP is already running a picture on their site of poor little innocent Brown like the media did with Treyvon Martin. He looks far younger and less imposing in the pictures they have and they are trying to set the tone that this was an execution. And no matter what, any reasoning behind the initial stop will be marginalized and downplayed.

What? If anything the guy committing the robbery explains his actions & why the officer reacted the way he did. Brown's character isn't a question everyone knows that he was a worthless thug. It's just opportunity for the left, blacks, & race baiters to do what they love.

Yea but Brown was unarmed. If he'd beaten the officer to an inch of his life at least they'd both be here, maybe, & if he had gotten the gun & shot the cop it would've just been another day.

I think the superior option would have been to reiterate the earlier point that there had just been a robbery. Say that the officer was not responding to that but that the investigation will look into whether the interaction with the clerk, and any comments between them might shed any light on the reaction of the teens when they encountered the officer a few minutes later.

Then release the tape after multiple media inquiries, maybe a few days later.

Again, doesn't matter if they released it now or a year later. It will be dismissed as character assassination no matter what.

What does it matter? He robbed a stored & was walking down the middle of the damn road. How stupid could they be? If anybody was walking down the middle of the road any cop would engage them & if any person, especially a worthless wannabe thug, knew they were being engaged by police after robbing a store they would run or resist.
