Ferguson Riots

Well, at least two good things have happened in light of all the Ferguson drama. Now two effed up cops are hopefully losing their jobs because of all the media presence there.

While I'm here I'd like to thank Vice News, CNN, and the great people of Ferguson for providing me with my nightly entertainment there for a few days in a row. Thank you all for getting tear gassed and shot at whether they were rubber bullets or real ones. I'm now an advocate of awesome protests so please people, get out there and "stand up" for yourselves! I highly recommend that the next one takes place in Memphis! Anyone else?!

The father and Rev. Al calling for peace today. The father has repeatedly been quoted as calling for peace.

Yet, I've seen him on tv numerous times wearing this t-shirt.

Do you know Utah well? Not being a smartass, there aren't many blacks. Just wondering.

Not really. Have been through it a couple of times but only did cursory research when I was looking for a place to retire from the Army. Given my multi-cultural family, I wanted a place with a bigger mix and Utah was quickly filtered out.

It is sad that the parents have to bury their son. It is natural for them to have a sense of loss and we should all be respectful of that.

But, they have chosen to make that as public as any I've ever seen, to make it into a political statement. And so there are rightfully going to be criticisms of that aspect of it.

19 year-olds believe that they are invincible. They have no life experience to appreciate dangerous situations. If their 19 year old son had gone out in a dingy in dangerous waves and wind, without a life preserver, and drowned, their sense of loss would be the same, but the blame would be on the child for not appreciating the risks that he was taking. Similarly, a 19 year old who steals from a store, pushes the clerk around, and then socks a police officer in the face, is creating a bit of risk, too.

CNN coverage of this funeral is sickening! One would think a hero had been lost.

It's disgusting. I could list off plenty of other people who are more deserving of the hero's sendoff this guy is getting.

There's Al. Always making sure he can get his face in front of a camera.

All the Ferguson mess has demonstrated is that the "black community" has their concerns misdirected. Dozens and dozens of black teens have been murdered by other black teens in the past two weeks. It happens every single day.

With instant access to news as its happening the networks realize that there really isn't enough going on to fill their airwaves. CNN is good at manipulating a crisis or situation to help be time filler. The Malaysia flight was a great example, 24/7 coverage that included every conspiracy known to man. I think they might have even had some Wizards conjuring their level 3 sorcery stones to help locate the wreckage.

Now comes the crown jewel of new stories, RACISM! Or at least the potential for a racist angle. This really draws in the spectators. And like the President, CNN decided to make sure race was a huge factor in this incident regardless of what the facts were. Hell they didnt even wait for the facts instead taking the word of a plethora of middle school drop out crack heads that were wandering around the scene.

So the purpose of showing the funeral of this kid? To stoke that fire of racism back up because surprisingly over the weekend they had become embers.

I feel CNN, like many modern liberals, feel genuine guilt and regret at not being born/founded during earlier times when there were REAL social issues people were fighting for.

Race does have something to do with it, in terms of the aftermath. There is nothing wrong with Obama or any other president commenting on that.

CNN, with its cameras out at the protests, basically egging people on to commit acts of violence, and dumbing down at every turn all of the evidence and questions that suggest this was not as described by Brown's friend -- that's the problem.

The family is being used and they don't realize it.

The thing is Obama's comments just incite more racism. He is the alpha race baiter.

I am not a fan of our President commenting on the affairs of private citizens in any context. It's going to happen, sure..but Obama has time and time again commented almost exclusively when its white versus black. Off the top of my head his idiot professor who got arrested..Obama decides to comment before the facts race known and comes out looking like an a##hole. The Martin thing, talking about if he had a soon he would look like the kid..then there is this. This guy is just a crock.

The last president I can remember doing something similar was Bush Sr. in regards to Rodney King. And basically he said enough with the police brutality. It was pretty easy to come to that conclusion when watching the beat down video. Yet Obama opens his mouth before there is literally any facts presented and draws his own racist conclusion(s).
