Watch the replay of 85 Sugar Bowl. Outside of the 98 championship game was my favorite. Just watching makes me feel better. Getting some really good vibes about this team. GBO:)

Yeah me too. Mine read UNDERDOG, HELL! Became threadbare after 10 years or so. Should have put it away.

Freak posted a Harry Galbreath camp note recently. I watched that game about 2 weeks ago too. Jerome Brown was an absolute monster at Miami's DT slot. But Harry destroyed him on more than one big play. One of the great Vols ever and certainly one of the greatest stories.

Oh and the ladie's big hair was rockin' too. :)

Sorry, but when I am down I watch reruns of Pamela Ewing coming out of the pool in a see through one piece on Dallas. That always gets me up!!:D

Had a 101 degree fever that day, slept through all the other bowl games. By halftime of the Sugar Bowl my sister was yelling at me to stop jumping on the coffee table.

During that time, I lived a couple of hours away from where I grew up where my parents still lived. I was single at the time, and after the game, I had to call my dad because he is the reason I have been VFL since conception. We just enjoyed the conversation immensely but I would have loved to have been at home watching it with him. Thanks, Dad, for passing your Big Orange blood on to me. #RIPDAD #GBO #VFL

I would love to watch the 85 Sugar Bowl game again! Is it somewhere out there on you tube?

I remember the local radio station having a remix of the Battle of New Orleans for that game. It was awesome!

Feeling nostalgic last night, I watched the Miracle at South Bend. At first I was zipping past the commercials, but saw one that was entertaining regarding an automobile. Watched them all along with the game.

It is hard to believe that was 25 years ago this year. One thing you do not see with our teams anymore (and I am glad of it) is the incoherent verbal activity on the sidelines every time a camera was within earshot.

Also, I noticed that Andy Kelly had many of the traits of Josh Dobbs. He was throwing below, behind and over our receivers. The receivers (a young crew that took over from 4 NFL Drafted receivers from the year before) were dropping the ball just like last years bunch. There is hope for the Vols this year, and I hope we have the same miracle against Bama.

Speaking of nostalgia, I toured UTK on Friday---first visit to the alma mater in 16 years. I hardly recognized the place, what with all the new, impressive and very large facilities. The dorm replacing Gibbs Hall is huge--what, 10 stories? Back in the day the campus was very open and had a lot of empty space. No more! My wife was happy to see UT for the first time, especially all the new athletic facilities, but has been telling people since that there are no academics at UT--just sports! SEC priorities....

I'm sure he has it locked away in the attic, but my dad still has his shaker from the 85 Sugar Bowl. The stick is wooden and the (shakers?) are made of paper. One of his favorite Vol heirlooms. He said the crowd was easily 85%-15% Vols to Canes in the stands that night. He always references how loud the Vol faithful were that night.

I'm glad I read this thread. Until today I thought every living person in the state of Tennessee was at that Sugar Bowl game. It sure seemed like it on Bourbon St. I'm glad to see there were actually people left in the state.

Thanks for the super idea, utchs81, I rewatched it last night as well.

Neiko Creamer's dad was one of the heroes of that game. Was fun getting the legacy tie-in refreshed in memory. :good!:

I was just a small pup during the 85Sugar Bowl. I remember everyone in Jamestown wearing Big Orange the next day though. My greatest memories are undoubtedly the Miracle inSouth Bend,the 95 Bama game,and the 98 Fla game. GO VOLS!
