Now that I have had time to get the season behind me I feel good about 2011. We are loaded with a qb and offense. I feel our wins will be mostly blowouts and our losses will be close ones. We can score and that can keep us in games. We are even capable of pulling out some games for real this year. Bama and Uf and LSU are very winnable. Just one of those games with a win and we can be 9-3 10-2. I am totally serious.

Keep telling yourself that.

Our defense is still going to be a huge weak spot with the inexperience on the line and at linebacker. The offense should score enough to keep us in games like that for the most part, but ultimately it's defense that wins games in the SEC. I still think we're looking at 6-6 next year, but it'll be a much better looking 6-6 than what we saw this year. I doubt we'll see the team get completely blown out like they did a number of times this year, the added depth should help in that regard.

6-6 will be a disaster. We need IMPROVEMENT...6-6 and Dooley is gone. book it.

Incorrect no way he gets the hook with another 6-6 he gets 3 years at least

I don't see 6-6 happening next year, but if it does, there will be some major disappointment. CDD, however, won't be fired for it. If we let him go before Feb 16th 2013, we would owe him $5million. MH won't do it and he shouldn't, IMO. With the situation Dooley walked into, he will be here until that buyout is out of the way. Patience is a virtue we as fans will need next year more than this one.

maybe couch will come in and play like fairley did. i think our dline will be ok specially with the more depth we have, guys will be able to get a little break now. our lbs may be a surprise with lathers, crump, king, johnson, propst, and aj johnson, etc.. also i look for our secondary to be better with another year experience under their belt. im more worried about our te and 3rd down wr situation, jones was big time for us. i hope we are better then 6-6 but if we finish 6-6 it wouldnt surprise me.

I think that we will see an improvement and get better. I don’t think that Dooley should catch any heat for a 6-6or better record next year. I think that we could get 7 or 8 wins next year realistically, maybe more if we get a few breaks. Give Dooley time and see what he can do.

This is the kind of mentality that is going to ensure that DD doesn't make it past his third season. Saying 6-6 will be a "disaster" when there are 6 teams on our schedule that are CLEARLY more talented than we are is doing nothing but setting DD up to fail. If he is ever going to win here it's going to take time, we still won't be up to a full roster of scholarship players next season. 6-6 obviously isn't what most people want, but for the time being, while most of the teams in the SEC are better than us, 6-6 is a reasonable expectation. Over time things may begin to improve, but it's not going to be an overnight thing like Saban did at Bama. He started with a lot better team, and got a lot better recruits from the outset.

6-6 is not a reasonable expectation. Expectations like this lead to mediocrity. Unacceptable!

I think we lose 8-9 games next year, Dooley is fired, Hamilton resigns, we close down the football program, and Neyland is turned into a Sanitary landfill. Buckwheat is named AD and adds playing competitive marbles in place of the football program. I am seriously serious about being serious.

Dude !!!! We have a more experienced line(OL) than we had the last year. We have a more experiienced DL this year. We have a stable QB and a couple of WR's tht have seen SEC quality games. I fail to understand what makes you think that we have a 6-6 season. I am thinking we atleast 8 wins... write it down.... WE WILL HAVE 8 OR MORE WINS IN 2011 !!!!!

I still think we end up at 7-5. UGA without AJ just gives them another reason to underperform this year.

The fact that are 6 teams on the schedule who are markedly better than us. If UT is going to make the leap under DD, it'll happen in 2012, not next year.

I agree that 6-6 won't get him fired, but 6-6 would not be good next year.

I'm comfortable with not listening to any prediction and watching the chips fall where they will. If great seasons become expected, then I think the fanbase is fat, dumb, and happy. Mediocrity is not so much to be feared as complacency. Complacency is bred by success more than failure.

Let's let Doolander and the team work day to day; I think we will be pleasantly surprised at the result.

6-6 would not be acceptable next year. Dooley stays, regardless. Anyone who thinks this team goes 6-6 next year with a much easier schedule is a little pessimistic.

7 or 8 regular season wins next year. Book it.

Defense and running game concern me a lot. Need some surprising developments on those fronts to win 9 games.

Another example of Mike Hamilton's expert contract negotiating abilities. How does CDD NOT get 4 years? We can tank in 2012 and will be left with the choice of paying ANOTHER 5 mill payout or wait until after NSD to fire him, which sets us back another 2 years in recruiting.

Explain to me why thinking 6-6 is being pessimistic. From a historical point of view, 6-6 isn't a good year at UT, however when you break down the opponents it's exactly what this team should be. Can you honestly look at UF, Bama, LSU, Arkansas, Uga, or USCjr and say to yourself "we're more talented than that team"? I can't, so to me expecting the team to win more than 6 is being unrealistic. You should beat teams you're and better than and teams that are better than you should beat you and I see an even split on our schedule of teams that we are better than and those that we aren't.
