February 4th, 2009 (NSD) is fast approaching. Does anyone want to guess where our recruiting class will end up? I say 3rd in the SEC and 6th overall. What do you think?:zeitung_lesen:

Is 4rd a combo of 3rd and 4th? lol

I'll go with 3rd SEC, 7th overall.

i think you may be close. if so we need a couple of 5* to come through for us. if we can do that i think we have a chance...also need to fill out all of our scholarships for it to be that high. Sometimes recruiting rankings are based on the amount of players a team gets, not necessarily *points...we shall see. i say 11th, 6th in SEC

I see us getting one or two surprises and Brown. If we retain Stokes, that gives us a few AA guys. 5 or 6. If we break the top 10, it'll be barely, IMO.

Who cares. Vol Hoops will be rolling in to Fayetteville for what is quickly becoming a big game.

No, BPV, we have to care! It's another contest to see how high we place. :clapping:

If we make a poor showing, then I won't care and say it's just a numbers game and doesn't mean squat. :)

Kinda what i was thinking, I think as long as we dont lose anyone that we already have and get Brown and a few other late commits i will be very pleased with the job that the new staff has done esp. with the short time they have had!

I just want us to do well and get the players we need who are committed to being the best. I want us to end up high, but in the end I want the best players to end up at UT regardless of their rankings by the scouting market. I think the rankings are the first opportunity to let other schools know that we are coming after them....... now.:superman:

Here's my logic:

Schoefield and Phillips are going to get bumped to 4* per Rivals based on All-Star games...so right now we have ten 4* and eight 3*....

We land Patterson and Brown...possibly Carroll...but lose Stokes

We land Montgomery and Myles on D...we land Washington and White on O...

In the end we have one 5*(maybe), fifteen 4*'s, and eight 3*'s

That would have placed us at roughly 10th overall last year(per Rivals...UM at 10th had zero 5*'s, seventeen 4's, and six 3's) and 4th in the SEC

The way this year is shaping up those numbers would still put us in or right at the top 10 overall...but probably 5th in the SEC

15 overall at best

I dont see more than 4-5 more commits on the board to be honest. And dont tell me about all these silents, bs.

I think one or two people on the board probably are watching our recruiting. I also think its OK to care about both at the same time. I'm definitely watching basketball closely and looking at recruiting as well.
