Crosby can dunk a basketball and threw the shot put in track and field. Ramey called Crosby “the second strongest kid” he’s coached in 10 years at Ocean Lakes with a max bench press of 365 pounds, a max squat of 525 and a max dead lift of 600. “He is going to compete at whatever he does and he doesn’t care what’s in front of him. He doesn’t let things enter his mind that he can’t do something,” Ramey said. “I think his best playing is ahead of him. I think at the next level he will get the extra coaching and attention that will make him better. He is a very untapped athlete with his size and strength.”

Crosby’s teammates nicknamed him Yeti after the Abominable Snowman that’s entrenched in Himalayan folklore. “Everyone said I looked like one of the snowmen when I was a freshmen and it stuck,” Crosby said. “Teachers call me that in class and people hold up signs at games saying ‘Fear the Yeti.’ ”

Unfortunately he was only a 3* so most people on VN couldnt care less about him. However, one look at his offer list is all I need to see. Bama, Clemson, FSU, UF....kid has talent.

.912 4star and our fourth highest rated player in the class behind only Smith, Chandler and Gray. Was excited about him when he committed and expected more highly rated players like him to be a part of the 2017 class. Think he's gonna be really good.

The day after national signing day I was going to start a thread just out of interest and sort of for fun to ask which two players in this years class where going to be the "real deal" so to speak. (I take Trey Smith and Ty Chandler off the list because, I don't think there's any doubt with them) As far as the rest, don't care about star ratings, number of offers, etc.. Just a hunch. Decided nobody wanted to waste their time so, never started it.

That being said, that day I chose Eric Crosby and Mathew Butler. The only criteria I can offer is they just look like they're ready to get on the field and knock heads.

On Rivals he was a 3*. On 247 Composite he is a solid 4*. Regardless, he is one heckuva football player and even better person it appears. I agree, that offer list says it all.

Watch his film. I live in the Hampton roads area and there is some real talent around here. The kid has shy Tuttle talent.

He had incredibly quick feet and great lateral quickness. Great attributes for an interior lineman.

Typical Jones special: short, fast defensive tackles who pass rush first and tackle running backs as they see them. See: Tuttle, Shy; Williams, Owen.
