T-1. Air Force (8) - With the Mountain West postponing the 2020 season Air Force will still play 2 games in 2020 to attempt to extend their streak. They play Navy 10/3 and Army 11/7.

T-1. Note Dame (8) - In their temporary alignment with the ACC the Irish are 2-0 thus far in 2020 to tie Air Force at 8 wins to share the lead for longest current winning streak. Their week 4 game against Wake Forrest was postponed and with a week 5 Bye their next game is 10/10 against Florida State where the Golden Domers should make it 9 in a row.

T-3. FAU (7) - The Owls have yet to play a game in 2020 having both of their games being postponed. They are slated to match up against Charlotte on 10/3 to try to extend their streak to 8 in a row.

T-3. Tennessee (7) - The Vols extended their now SEC leading streak by defeating South Carolina to open up their 2020 campaign. They will play Missouri on 10/3 and be the favorites at home with a good chance to make it 8 in a row. That's right folks, our Tennessee Volunteers have the longest winning streak in the toughest conference in all of college football.

T-5. Florida (5) - The Gators also extended their streak to open things up in 2020 by defeating Ole Miss and spoiling Kiffin's debut in Oxford. Florida will get a visit from the Gamecocks on 10/3 and will be the favorites in their attempt to make it 6 in a row.

T-5 UCF - Beginning 2020 with a 2-0 start the Knights lead by QB Dillon Gabriel have already amassed 825 yards through the air with an 8 TD to 1 INT ratio. Tulsa will make the visit to Orlando on 10/3 and the Knights are in a good position to start off 2020 3-0.

Well if Tennessee doesn't play better this week it's over. When are we ever going to field a team with coaches that produce an enjoyable game; that most of don't have to SECOND GUESS what is called on offense and defense? I've watched football for 40 years now, and I can recognize Competence. We ain't got it.

That's extremely harsh.

Were there some things that weren't perfect in that game? Yes.

But, I didn't see many bonehead things in that game. I saw physical issues....like overthrowing a WR. But, I didn't see too many mental issues and considering practice limitations and so forth, it was one of the more cleaner Tennessee games in a while. The Gator Bowl was loaded with boneheaded stuff in comparison.

Zero turnovers and 6 penalties, you'll take all day every day.

I can't wait for our winning streak to include Georgia Bama Auburn and Florida. A truly impressive feat!

We actually had 1 turnover on downs, on special teams. But at least no turnovers on an offensive plays.

That's true. It's just not time for everyone to go crazy. It's one week. We'll know how good everyone is by the 3rd or 4th game.

For example, everyone is going nuts about Mississippi State's win against LSU. For all we know, LSU will lose 5 games this year. If that happens, what occurred on Saturday doesn't look as special.

We have to let some stuff play out.

Of course, the parody of this season has hardly even started, imo. This SEC-only schedule is going to be "Metal". There is going to be so much craziness, it would not surprise me if we start doing this in the spring every year. Spring Champs!!!

Plus anyone who knows football, knows that teams' biggest improvement comes between the first and second game.

Tradition is typically very important. But tradition will be on acid and steroids this year.

There were two bad penalties in there though. I thought the refs were letting a lot of stuff go last night.

Depends what kind of penalty it is as to whether it's "bonehead" or not. But, yeah, they were letting them play.

Tennessee, IMO, got away with a blatant hold on Johnson's great one handed grab.

Miami , UCF, Mississippi St had the same limitations. How'd they look?

I see you don't let facts get in the way of a conversation. Tell me the % of Vol fans that didn't Cringe most of the Night. Go ahead.

You honestly thought they were that bad?

I'm not saying there isn't room for improvement. Of course there is. But, they were far from cringe worthy.

And LSU, UGA, Oklahoma?

We are 1-0 in the weirdest year of my lifetime. Can I just enjoy a win for 36 hours? Then all you snowflakes can come back and whine all you want.

I'm the farthest thing from a Snowflake there buddy. Go ahead and enjoy another gut wrenching UT Win. I make no excuses for expecting a top performance from the Vols. And like I've said, the Coaching was the biggest sore spot in this game. Offense & Defense. Lsu? Lost their entire team. Oklahoma just being Oklahoma. Uga? KIrby.

The whining... it's unbearable. Tighten it up, buttercup.

After Week 5 update
1. Air Force (9) Air Force easily handled Navy in their 40-7 victory. They will take on San Jose St on 10/24 to try to make it 10 straight.

T-2. FAU (8) New coach Willie Taggart wins his first with the Owls beating Charlotte 21-17. They will play Southern Miss on 10/10 to attempt to tie Air Force for the national lead for active winning streak.

T-2 Notre Dame (8) Note Dame successfully navigated its bye week and remained unbeaten in 2020. Next up for the Irish are the Seminoles on 10/10 as they attempt to also tie Air Force at 9 in a row.

T-2 Tennessee (8) The Vols extended their SEC leading winning streak by defeating Missouri 35-12. Next up is the Vols are the Georgia Bulldogs on 10/10 who will be ranked top 5 nationally. The Vols have the toughest chance to extend their streak but we've seen some crazy endings between the hedges over the years. A win for the Vols would also tie Air Force for the longest active win streak at 9.

So we're 1st in the SEC (the most important winning streak metric), tied for 1st in the Power 5 (second-most important), and tied for 2nd in the FBS. Nice!
