Does this mean a diminished fullback role in the offense? ... and what does this mean for Channing Fugate?

well, just looking at things, I believe Kevin Cooper would be our 1st team FB and Fulgate would spell him. :idunno:

Yes. I'm assuming we're cool with Fugate and Cooper there. Fugate must show some aptitude already.

I met AJ in a restaurant a few weeks ago. He seems like a nice, genuine guy and I hope he does really well at his new position. GBO!

I like Toney Williams to get some looks at FB. He has the size to play the position and could come out of the back field and run the ball as well. Not saying as an every down thing, but he could see some time there.

I also think you will see less of a role for the FB. Lost of 3 WR, 4 WR, 1 RB, 2 TE stuff. We are going to throw the ball a bunch IMO, and run out of 1 Back and and shotgun sets.

Johnson to LB is a good thing, JMHO, in my honest opinion.

I understand that Chaney will be calling plays, but Dooley has said repeatedly that he prefers to run the ball.

I believe Johnson was being recruited as a LB out of high schoo, if I remember correctly. :bash: Was a very solid LB at Hickory High School in NC.

I also think you will see less of a role for the FB. Lot of 3 WR, 4 WR, 1 RB, 2 TE stuff. We are going to throw the ball a bunch IMO, and run out of 1 Back and and shotgun sets.

The fullback pos. will be used less in Chaney/Dooley offense. From ppl with knowledge of what Dooley prefers on offense the FB doesn't figure in. I do not agree, IMO to run the ball successfully in the SEC (ratio of 60/40) teams need a fullback. Cutcliffe totally took out the FB and the offense became pass happy and they couldn't run the ball to get 1yd.
