My son was born in Richmond, KY, (His mother and I were in school at Berea College at the time) and every year we go to the UT / UK game. Every time, he would wear a jacket of the home team and a hat for the visitor.

In 1998, when he was 7, he had on his orange "T" jacket and his blue "K" hat and as we started to set down one of the people around us said something like, "Hey, this is the Tennessee section" playing with him. He took his hat, flung as far as he could and said, "I was born in Kentucky but I'm a Vol!"

The people around us gave him a nice cheer. That's my favorite memory.

My oldest son's first TN game. Charlie Garner broke a long run against Bama. The place went wild, everyone screaming, the stands felt like it was shaking. Gave me chills.

I was at this game. Sat right behind two Bama fans. Singing na na na na hey hey hey Goodbye! At the end of the 3rd quarter. Most memorable moment as a UT fan. On the way back to the hotel a drunk Vol fan walked past us yelling ”1 in a row!". Loved it.

Seeing WES BROWN score on the int against Vandy in his last home game at Neyland Stadium with my 8 and 9 year olds something they'll never forget and neither will I.

Friggin' classic, my friend. Was there; bought a few rounds; met some cool Tide fans, and, with all due respect, enjoyed the victory beyond description.

We came out in the second half with Rick Clausen and rallied to win that game in overtime on a Gerald Riggs TD run! Awesome!

haha me and my friends still crack up about that game. when riggs ran it in and we won, (i was a Olinemen in high school) but i ran across the room and jumped clear over my couch but slightly nicked the top with my toe and i went face first into the carpet hahah but i was laughing and screaming so much i didint even know that i almost died hahah. awsome.


But i would have to say flordia in 98 or arkansas 98...i think its a tie...

Watching Bo Jackson get LEVELED in the rain by UT linebackers...1985. My first vols game and still got the ticket.

My father still reminds me about when the rain got blown off his helmet on his final carry. Had something like 12 carries for 28 yards in his Heisman trophy winning year. Somebody correct me on the stats.

I've had many with my father but the best has to be winning the NC in 98 over Florida State. My father had just gotten out of the hospital from Quadrupel By-Pass Surgery and we were able to watch this game together...very special.

I've had many more including watching UT beat Georgia in Athens on a rainy day while my father and I munched on soggy KFC way back in 1969. :eek:hmy: :eek:lol:

This is the game we were at...

Curt Watson made the starting lineup at the outset of his sophomore year in 1969, but it was mid-season before his name made the headlines. The 1969 Vols carried a perfect record into Athens, Ga. for a showdown battle with a very strong Georgia team.
A leaden gray sky hung over Sanford Stadium that day, and a steady rain pelted the playing field. Bulldog coach Vince Dooley preferred a game that was played tackle to tackle, while the Vols preferred to open it up with quarterback Bobby Scott's passing. However, the Vols and sophomore Watson beat the Bulldogs at their own game.

Watson rushed for 197 yards on 19 carries in that 17-3 Tennessee victory, breaking Tom Tracy's 15-year record for the most yards gained by a Vol back, without the benefit of a long breakaway run.


That performance, and others like it, helped the Vols to the 1969 Southeastern Conference championship. He kept up the pace for two more years. By the end of his remarkable career, Watson was one of a select few Vol players to make All-SEC in all three of his varsity seasons.

Geez as I think about it...there are plenty more than come to mind....GO VOLS !!

Was there with my Dad and brother on that rainy day in Georgia, VNC. Vols dominated a very good Bulldogs team. One of the mighty Chip Kell's greatest games, and he had many. He was so damn strong and had such good footwork, there wasn't ANYONE he couldn't pancake. Opened huge holes for Curt all day long. One of the most physical poundings I've ever witnessed. I had a couple of classes with Chip the year prior, and chatted with him often. A super- nice, quiet, soft-spoken guy, but could demolish opponents on the football field. I saw him knock a guy out cold with one elbow, just coming off the FIELD at Neyland. I asked him about it, when I next saw him, and he said the dude had bitten him twice under the pile. Guy must have been retarded 'cause Mr. Kell was a total beast. Can't remember the team. I think it was Kentucky. Just not sure. That rainy day in Athens was, indeed, a great vol memory. Thanks, man.

I was there, also, PCV, but I don't remember it raining. I recall blue skies and sunshine. Tony Robinson dazzled everyone that day and was on the cover of SI the following week. Dale Jones & Co. hammered Bo dang near on every play, whether he had the ball or not. A great day to be a Vol!!!

When I was 10 my dad won a contest at his work and got 2 tickets to the 1996 Citrus Bowl. I had never been to a UT game. So we drove to Orlando and watched Tennessee beat OSU in the pouring rain. Wasn't much of a fan before that game(was really too young to care) but I left Orlando as a die hard UT fan.

In 1999 my dad took me to my first game at Neyland for the Notre Dame game. I remember the Vol walk and the band blew me away. But when I made my way into the stadium and first walked from the concorse into the actual stadium and got my first actual look at Neyland it literally took my breath away. I still get goosebumps when I think about the first time I saw the team run through the T.

Also me and my buddy drove down to LSU that Monday in 2005 when we came back from down 21-0 at the half. My buddy, an old tennessee fan, his grandson, and myself were literaly surrounded by hundreds of LSU fans in every direction. It was intimidating. I read somewhere that of the 96,000 fans at that game there were only about 500 UT fans(most UT fans couldn't make it since the game had been moved to Monday)We got cussed at, had stuff thrown at us, and even threatened. Funny thing is all 95,000 of those douchbags didn't have anything to say after the game.

Picking my #1 moment would be hard but it would have to be one of those three.
