I know people say kids today are bigger, stronger, and faster, but I really have a hard time believing it.
Charlie Garner was like watching people try and catch greased lightning, and Dale Carter didn't seem human.
I can remember when we almost always had legitimate 4.4 and faster players at skill positions. And there "game speed" reflected that.
Today, it doesn't seem like they are any faster, and are certainly not as fast or strong in the lines. There are exceptions like Barnett, of course, but across the board, seems like we just don't field the same level of raw talent.
AK will have the best NFL career of any JUCO that's ever played at UT. Unfortunately, his skills were underutilized at UT due to BJ's inability to recognize/evauluate talent.
Got to meet him after the Kentucky game one year. He was awesome and took time to talk to my then 9 year old son. Sorry to hear of his passing a few years ago.
