Mine are Armani -- 2 pairs (I have had Versace and Gucci also)-- thinking of getting some new ones soon, maybe a different brand -- whats everyone elses favorites ?
The $1 ones from the dollar store. They keep the sun out of my eyes and I don't cry when I forget they're sitting on my hat and I swarp at a mosquito and throw them in Norris Lake. (Like I did to a pair of Arnett's one time)
I'm a big fan of Smith. Great polarized lenses and you can find them relatively affordable if you look around, so you are spared grief when they fall in the lake or the kids knock them off your head. My recent experience with their customer service solidified them as my #1.
I think most sunglasses look stupid on me and I'm also cost averse, so $10 aviators and wayfarers is what I always got. Now I need prescription glasses so I got Ray Ban Wayfarers and I love them.
This was my favorite pair of knockoff wayfarers, tho. Doubles as a bottle opener
Tom Ford seem to fit my face best. Good quality and styling. And before anyone rips into me about the cost (again), I have never paid full retail for a pair.
I currently have two pairs of quality sunglasses. I have a pair if Maui Jim's and a pair if Costas.
The Maui Jim's have been awesome the costas have been good up until a couple of days ago. The lenses started fogging/distorting. I initially thought it might be a sunscreen film. I washed them with Dawn and warm water but that didn't work. I went to alcohol and cotton balls and that didn't work. My son, who has much better eyes noticed almost a crackle pattern on the lenses. They are warranted for life so I'm sending them back. We'll see.
Being an old timer I need reading glasses. The C-mates have bifocal portions but they are positioned perfectly so you can wear the glasses all the time without noticing but can read or focus up close when needed.
Vacationing in 30A a few years back with another family. My buddy loses his sunglasses in the ocean so we go shopping for some.
At the store, he tries on some Costas. Clerk walks over and states: "Ah, I see you're a Costa man." Buddy doesn't miss a step: "Why yes sir, I sure am a Costa man."
Yeah. Everyone got a good laugh. He didn't see them but one of the ministers noticed it. Slipped right from his shirt pocket. It was a family funeral, and my brother is so high strung about stuff being proper, so everyone got a good laugh.
I buy whatever brand is in the $5-10 range. I only wear them when driving so I'm not about to spend a fortune on glasses. It's been proven there is no real difference between cheap or designer glasses. Most are all made in the same factory in Italy anyway.
I'm currently rocking these Chewbacca aviators. I got them on sale at Kroger for $5 a few months after The Force Awakens ran its marketing campaign course.
