That's mine. TN had not won a major bowl game for 15 years and Miami's chances pretty much ended with that play.

That is so awesome... Gives me goosebumps listening to Ward's call of that play. I remember listening to it live next to my family's stereo downstairs. Incredibly, it wasn't televised.

The very next play in the video at 3:58 is LB Darrin Miller's 96 yard interception return for a TD vs Iowa in '87 which pretty much won the game for us in the Kickoff Classic. That's a great video! Again, thanks for posting all of these.

I just noticed that they put a nickle man to man on the other side with Malone. That was a mismatch had Dobbs went there. Then again maybe a couple of Safeties playing center field would have shared over there if Dobbs had wound up that way.

We've had so many I always forget about some.

Another forgotten gem...

The SEC opener vs Georgia (in Athens) in '92, we are a heavy underdog with Fulmer as an interim head coach but pull the upset. On our game winning drive, we are down 31-27 with 2:15 left in the game and are faced with a 4th and 14 from the Georgia 40 yard line. Heath Shuler throws a strike over the middle to WR Ronald Davis for a 23 yard gain down to the Georgia 17. We score a few plays later and win the game 34-31. The first big win of Fulmer's head coaching career. That was my freshman year at UT...

There was a play years ago when we played a Penn State team that was thought to be "world beaters". On the kickoff the kick was poped up "in between" our player took in in stride and scored without being touched.. It was said to have been practiced and set up just for this game.. We won bye the way.
