I think this was the only game I've ever "teared up" out of excitement.

I have so many. 1995 Mississippi State, took my 2 year old son to his first game, Citrus Bowl when we beat Ohio State, 1985 Auburn, 1995 Bama at Birmingham, all the SEC championship games, but my favorite has to be the National Championship game in Arizona! it was great! A memory I will never forget!

1991 Miracle at South Bend

I was 8, and before that, I would watch the games with my dad because it was his team. I remember hearing the NBC announcers saying "Notre Dame is just in another league right now," and then after the blocked kick, they truly became my team. I have routed for other teams, including my current school, but UT is my team, and nothing gives me chills like a blocked field goal when we need it (UK last week, ND years ago).

John Ward calling that game was great. It was really the first Tennessee game I remember listening to.

96 Arkansas = My first game ever. It was amazing and really I made my mind up where I was going to college on that day. Miserable day actually, it was cold and windy. But a UT punt return broke the game open.

04 Florida = My first UF - UT game as a student. Amazing how loud it got.

06 Cal = Amazing atmosphere. The team and the fans took out the frustration on that football team that day.

Agree whole-heartedly. It was as if the fans just wanted (and needed) to cheer for them and they gave it all to us. The pure joy Vol fans were feeling after that game made me glad I came in for it. I really think the noise level in that game was 2nd only to UF in 98.

The 98 florida game. I couldn't talk for 6 days after that game. Followed by the 85 Auburn game. Got to shake hands with Bo.

I know. A buddy of mine that went here (transferred to Ohio State after our freshmen year in 04) was at the game with me. He described Longshore as looking like "109,000 people grabbed your facemask and shook you."

I have two memories that stand out, neither had to do with the actual football game.

In 98, my daughter was being recruited by Sousa for the band/Music dept. We got to walk with the band to the stadium and Salute to the Hill. Wonderful experience for me and my daughter, she got sit with the band.

At a game a couple or so years ago (don't remember the team) They had the Scottish Drum Corp play at halftime, and when they played Amazing Grace, I started singing along, and so did others. It seemed like most the people were singing eventually. I couldn't hold back the tears, then or now, it was so moving for me.
It may be bad form to quote yourself, I'm sure someone will let me know, but I wonder:
Did anyone else go to that game?
Do you remember which game?
Did you have a similar experience?
Thanks for your indulgence.

I believe it was Bama 04. I have seen them do that once or twice since I've been a student here.

edit: It is awesome

When Tn played Nd in South bend and leonard missed that field goal , my dad and two brothers and myself started jumping around and we all started hugging each other and someone stepped on my leg and almost broke my foot! but I did not care ! If it had been broke it was worth it!!!:)

I remember standing with my Dad outside Stokely looking for tickets to the last home game for Ernie Grundfeld and Bernard King. A man handed me a ticket for a seat on the floor under the basket just a few feet away from the end of the TN bench.

I was probably in 6th or 7th grade and thus old enough to really be infatuated with everything Orange. It was a great game and I had a chance to shake the hands of both Ernie and Bernie.
