Give me a great memory from a Tennessee game that you have been to . I have few but I would say for me it was taking my 7 year old son to his first game , it was the Vandy game . We first went to the vol walk and Tim got right on up there and got to high five all the players and Phil Fulmer too and then seeing him sing Rocky Top as the band came down was priceless! Then Seeing his eyes light up when he saw the stadium from the inside for the first time and the the team coming out of the T and of course seeing him cheer when our team was down in the fourth quarter then coming back to beat Vandy:! sorry this is long but I wanted to share what a wonderful experience it was and I want to know some of your memories!! GO VOLS:good!:

The 1996 TN-Bama game.......My first game...down 13-0 at the half I believe....2nd half Jay Graham went wild!!! Final Tn 20-Bama 13

Recent "goer" of games but notable ones:

Cal '06 (First game ever in Neyland and my God was it the most amazing thing ever!)

USCe '07 (Pissed off the majority of the second half but the elation I felt when Succop missed that field goal is indescribable)

UK '07 (I was FREEZING, but 4OT later it didn't matter.)

Mine.....Sugar Bowl where we blew Miami out of the Superdome!!
I had press pass and roamed the sidelines all game long. I'm on TV twice..friends and family saw me. I had on a Dale Jones jersey and he autographed it for me. And, we partied on Bourbon St. till dawn.
I still watch the video 'bout once a year when I need a football fix in the off season.
Hell'ava ride!!
Go Vols....! gimme that feeling again this wknd.

I had my 4 year old son at the same game. He likes to walk by me like the players at the vol walk and hold his hand against his chest like Ainge. Too funny.

1991 Miracle at South Bend

I was 8, and before that, I would watch the games with my dad because it was his team. I remember hearing the NBC announcers saying "Notre Dame is just in another league right now," and then after the blocked kick, they truly became my team. I have routed for other teams, including my current school, but UT is my team, and nothing gives me chills like a blocked field goal when we need it (UK last week, ND years ago).

One great memory for me was the Vanderbilt game in 1985. We won the SEC championship for the first time in my lifetime and that day was magical. Also the 1993 game when we killed Tanneyhill of South Carolina. Great revenge game against that big mouth!!!

It's a tossup between a few. As far as games I went to, it would have to be either the game where we beat Florida Ainge's freshman year where Wilhoit missed the extra point and then turned around and hit the 50+ yarder to win the game or the multi-overtime Arkansas game in 2002.

One of my best overall UT moments, though, was when we beat Florida in 2001 in Gainesville. I was living in the dorms at UT watching it with a bunch of guys. At the end of the game, everybody rushed out into the courtyard, and this huge mob sprinted for the stadium to tear down the goalposts. When we got there, there were police at every gate already, so everybody just went crazy in the parking lot out in front of the stadium. Good times.

My favorite was Cal 06. My sons first game at Neyland. The Volwalk, the band marching down and the tears of pride (his and mine) when the Vols ran through the "T". A new Vol fan was made that day.

First big game I really remember going to was 85 Auburn. My parents were trying to get me out of the stadium safely and I wanted to help take down the goalposts.

Mine was also the 04 Florida game. I had bought season tickets for the first time that year. I had been trying to get my dad to go with me for a few years without any success. When I was a kid he went all the time but stopped going because of all the people. He hadn't been since around 82, but I finally talked him into going to that game with me. Well as we all know the weather up until that day was horrible but it turned out to be a gorgeous day for football. After that game he went to every home game with me. Those memorize I will never forget.
Tennessee football is truly a family tradition!!!!!

I have so many great memories;being in ala when we broke the streak;on the hill when hershall walker came in game not good for us but damn what a player;back to back seccg 97-98;being in south bend and got abused following yr got refinge;ark game 98 there is nothing better than being a vol fan

I think one the games I'll remember most is one that I saw at Phillips Arena against Ga. Tech in the Peach Bowl Classic. My dad, my brother, and I all drove down to Hotlanta on a Sunday to watch this double header first with Gonzaga and Georgia and then Tennessee and Georgia Tech. My brother is a huge Yellow Jacket fan and with 0.5 seconds left, he was all up in my grill about how I knew I should have never made the trip and how I knew Georgia Tech was better. Tennessee had taken a time out so he had time to do this before the horn sounded. Tennessee had to go the length of the court and score 3 points in 0.5 seconds. It was so hopeless that this guy that was sitting beside us left the arena as the teams broke the huddle. My brother was smiling ear to ear as Ron Slay took the ball from the referee, looked left, then right, faked left, then threw the pass to Jon Higgins who was standing on the right sideline at midcourt. As he caught the pass he was also turning and immediately heaving the ball toward the basket. As the ball left his hands the horn sounded, and from our seats, directly behind the basket, we all could tell it was going to be good. My brother looked up as the ball banked in and Tennessee won by 1. His emotions immediately went from total excitement to complete and utter dissapointment. Quite possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Thats it, my first live UT game, the roads were all parking lots afterwards, and I was makin beer runs for everybody in the jam with us, guys were holding up cash out the window to get my attention, their was this little convience store, should have seen the clerk after about my 10th trip in that place.

I have three that stick out...

98 Arkansas game...spent the entire game in the rain listening to my brother in law who is an Arkansas fan sitting beside me talking smack and when Stoerner dropped the ball, the place went nuts and my Brother in Law was furious...priceless.

not sure of the year I think 2000 or 2002 Arkansas overtime game that went past midnight at Neyland. We were up then down up then down. It was a wild and crazy night. Everyone left there singing that night.

2006 Cal game - we live in Arkansas and on a whim without tickets left on a Friday afternoon drove the 9 hours to knoxville rounded up some tickets and went to the game. We were not sure if we were going to watch the slaughter everyone predicted or not but we have been to quite a few games at neyland and I can say that is the loudest I can ever remember it being.

I was at this game and it has to be absolutely the best game that I have ever attended for the Vols.

Mine is easy. 98 Nat'l Championship game. Stayed in Vegas and drove out thru the desert to the game. That was one of the best nights of my life. I remember the moon that night after the game was huge and bright orange. You couldn't have slapped the smile off my face for weeks after that.

I was also at the '04 game against FU. When Wilhoit nailed the 50-yarder, you could literally feel the upper deck shaking! My dad was standing next to me and we were surrounded by fans wearing blue. When I hugged him, I hit him in the back so hard that he made an appointment with the doctor on Monday.
A funny epilouge: The following year, my wife and I were going on vacation to Disney World the same weekend that the Vols were playing in gainesville. Even though she hates football, we decided to get tickets and take in the game on the drive down. I was asked by one FU fan, "Do you guys still have that kicker? I'm so sick of watching him hit long field goals against us!"

Yep ! the one when we beat SC in 93 !! AWESOME game and very cold but i did not care!:dance:

I have two memories that stand out, neither had to do with the actual football game.

In 98, my daughter was being recruited by Sousa for the band/Music dept. We got to walk with the band to the stadium and Salute to the Hill. Wonderful experience for me and my daughter, she got sit with the band.

At a game a couple or so years ago (don't remember the team) They had the Scottish Drum Corp play at halftime, and when they played Amazing Grace, I started singing along, and so did others. It seemed like most the people were singing eventually. I couldn't hold back the tears, then or now, it was so moving for me.

2004 was a home game vs florida.

Mine was 03, senior year, going to gainesville and beating the gators, then taking pictures underneath "this is gator country".
Good times!
