Vinson is another impact freshman..
he's probably the 2nd biggest impact freshman behind Berry.

Berry 1st and GJ in a distant 2nd. But that isn't taking anything from GJ, that's giving a lot to Berry.

4.Gerald Jones/ Dennis Rogan
5.Daniel Lincoln

based on impact
1.Eric Berry- 5 pics, leads freshmen in SEC in tackling, set single season return yardage record for tennessee of turnovers and leads nation, started every game, 2nd team all-sec as freshmen,SEC def freshmen of the year, enough said.
2.Brent Vinson- in just a week of preparation transitioned from WR to CB. Turned into the best corner we had at the end of the season due to injury. Although he got beat some he had a season saving pass breakup that would have been a touchdown against kentucky.
3.Daniel Lincoln/Dennis Rogan/Gerald Jones- I couldn't put any of them lower than 3 because they all made very critical plays throughout the season to keep our SEC championship hopes alive. Daniel was so clutch on many different ocassions. Dennis Rogan gave us a spark on ST and a reliable backup DB and set us up for the win against Vandy. Gerald didn't get to play until BAMA but the plays he made in OT against Kentucky were beyond his years. He also turned into one of those playmakers that we were looking for. Without his injury there would be no telling what this guy would have done but he is the type of player Tennessee needed and hopefully will make use of in years to come.

I'm as excited about all of these guys as most of you. I just don't see how you all are putting Jones ahead of Lincoln and Rogan. Obviously Berry takes this hands down. The guy just has a nose for the ball! Vinson made the switch early this year and has taken his lumps, but as of the SECCG started to give some out too! Also has played with a really really bum shoulder. Without Lincoln we don't win the USC or Vandy game. For most of the year he's been clutch. Rogan got his shot on returns and has definately made the most of it. the 70+yd return against ARK, the return vs. USC, he was special teams player of the week. Don't get me wrong, Jones has made an impact! IMHO with him being hurt 1/2 the year and then having to work his way into the rotation, then us not really using him as much as we should has made his impact a little less than Lincoln's and Rogan's. Again that's just my humble opinion.
