I still say a Wendy's Dave's Double is the best fast food burger. Never tried the west coast burger chains. Not including 5 guys. The Dave's double is fast food burger perfection imo. McDonald's, Hardee's, Sonic, Burger King - can't touch it.

Out of the ones you mentioned, Wendy's is the only one that actually tastes like meat to me. Even in their chili, it's good. The local Wendy's used to be really good about donating to our Wednesday night youth group at our church in the town we lived in then. Every week, they'd provide enough for our kids, so I kinda have a soft spot 😆

Jacks has very good burgers too FWIW. I agree that Wendy’s USED to be good by I feel the quality (at least at the ones near me) has takn a real downward turn the last few ywars.

Best fast burger I ever had hands down is now hard to find. Started in the early 80's. Declined in the 90's. It's a small chain and I remember them in my hometown in GA from years ago. Don't know if they are still there but they still exist in some capacity. But...Central Park always had fantastic burgers at great prices, especially the combo's. They originated in Chattanooga and spread into GA and the SE. Took some beatings as a chain company. But, I think they are coming back from obscurity. There is an operatinal store in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga for sure. Seems to still be open on Western Ave in K'Town as well. The only one left in Chattanooga is off Hixon Pike North and 153. From what I can find on them they are attempting to re-birth.

New central park just opened in hamilton place. Always seemed a little salty to me, but I did go there every now and then.

None of the Buc-ees that I know are in metro areas. They can’t handle the traffic or have the space. The one east of Birmingham is in Leeds. Crossville isn’t big.

To be fair, West Memphis, Arkansas isn’t exactly a desired location to visit.

I stopped at Wendy's in a pinch the other day for the first time in years. I had a baconator with no bun (keto diet) and, honestly, thought it was pretty dang good. They even served it in a container on lettuce with a fork, and you get fresh cooked patties that way.

Yep. Probably the standard. Wendy's is good food IMO. Even though I rarely go for a Whopper, I made a few disappear in my days. Always fancied them as one of the best. Can't say last time I ate one. If I pull into a BK, it's for that original chicken sandwich that's like crack. Hardee's is for the Mushroom n Swiss thick burger. Sonic is not for much of anything. I did try hte new smash burger. Decent but for that money I'll go get a baconator combo. And for half the cost of all of them, I can swing thru Cook Out and get a top end fast burger meal with double fries.
