Fastest RB in Georgia -- QWatson?

You assumed he was only offered because it was Dooley's high school.

Recruiting is too political. I think the kid is good.

Not exactly but if you say so. To be clear I never said the kid wasn't going to be a good player. I just don't think people should be expecting to much to quick. So many people put unrealistic expectations on these kids and are much to quick to call them busts when they don't show out their freshman year.

I'm not sure how recruiting is political. A crap shoot to some extent for sure though.

Before everyone gets carried away this guy was the least recruited player in this class. Even Blanc and Bullock were more highly recruited. Quenshaun had one offer other then our's and that was Indiana. I don't think we would have offered this guy had he not played at Dooley's old high school. That said he does look like he could develop into a decent player but lets give the kid a couple years before we start expecting to much from him. Quenshaun doesn't have "elite" speed but he is fast. Everyone keeps quoting his 100 time of 10.58 which is slightly faster then Devrin Young's best 100 time but not in the same league as Jeff Demps. Chris Rainey doesn't have a great 100 time but was actually faster then Demps was in the 40 with pads on which is what really counts. The smaller the player is the more the pads slow him down. When it comes to football 100m times are basically irrelevant except you know if a guy runs a sub 11 he's fast but the real yardstick is the 40. Since Queshaun didn't run the 40 in HS I'm assuming it wasn't his best. If you want to see speed in this recruiting class look at Daniel Gray he runs a 10.30 100 and a 4.3 40.

The kid's been operating as a deep back in an I formation.

He should be ready to carry the ball vs. NcSt.

Agreed. I always laugh when I see the hypothetical two-deep full of new recruits.

How many times -- since foerever -- have our RBs been late to a hole or caught from behind?

According to the stats I've seen here, Quenshaun Watson is faster than Rainey in the 100 and the 200. Not sure about Demps.

Anybody remember Nukeese ripping off some long break- aways on reverses? Or how about Rainey going 70 on a 1 yard pass late in the 2011 game?

We badly need some burners and it looks like we now have (at least) one.

Now that's funny.....intentional or not

I knew he was fast, but didn't know he was faster than Rainey. We for sure added some speed in this class at the skill positions, with him, and Pig. Croom is fast, and working on getting into the 4.4, 4.3 range by working with a trainer (per his mom). This class is better than it's ranking.

A lot of times that a kid doesn't get much attention or noticed is that they never attend many if any of the training camps that are around. Sometimes you get a steal that way. YMHO, but I could be wrong.

In his presser on NSD, Dooley was talking about Q's speed and how Devrin was our only option last year as a returner. I assume Q will be used in punt and kick-off returns along with Patterson. Whom Dooley also mentioned as a great KO return guy in his presser.

pig will return also

Nuke wasn't that fast!

I only assumed his 40 wasn't his best race. That's the only thing I assumed. I have no idea why he didn't get more offers I was merely stating the fact that he didn't.

Why wouldn't he have a chance to run the 40 though? Anyone running track is going to always compete at what they are best at.

You don't run 40s for track.

Fastest player from Louisana was Leonard Scott but it didn't translate on the field. I think he caught 2 touchdowns his entire college career.
Fastest JUCO player was Kenny O Neal, but he caught one touchdown pass. That touchdown was due to the d.b. having blown the coverage. O Neal didn't truly beat the d.b.

Typical V N expert. Last I heard there is no 40 yard sprint in track. 60 meters is the shortest I know of. The 40 thing is strictly a football creation and is tremendously variable and suspect in most cases.

There isn't a 40 yd.dash in high school track as far as I know. You are timed in football over 40 yds. to get your burst speed.

OK I made a mistake but why be a smarta**? As far as being an expert I'm pretty sure my knowledge of football would far exceed yours. Before you come on here being a d**k get a few posts under your belt so you will no a typical "VN expert" when you see one.

Actually, I doubt you know more than I do about much of anything. Having lots of posts on here often demonstrates lack of knowledge. Just read a few. If you know so much, how did you make such an elementary mistake?

Good thing no other coaches in the country have access to youtube then. :good!:

Dude is a project. I never said he was a worldbeater. I think he redshirts and is several Yeats away from contributing. We are in a spot where we need to take risks on diamond in the rough types. We aren't GA, or Bama where we cherry pick the top RB's in the country

What is the required post count for smart remarks? Couldnt find it in board rules.
