Faster player on the team....

All that I know is I remember D-Mo pulling of some very nice plays against Lynch and Cal in 2006 .... and he had to have some wheels to pull off those plays.

I completely agree with you on the Kenny O'Neil comment that you presented under the table. Smartass or not it's fact he could be a huge bust if he doesn't get it together.

I resigned myself to this fact after he was academically ineligible for the Outback bowl after his main issues at FSU were academics.

Pair that with not really seeing anything from him this year (aside from a long bomb from crompton in mop up time vs the juggernaut that is ULL), I am really doubting we ever see much out of Kenny O'Neal.

Here's to hoping I'm wrong. :crossfingers:

eric berry was too busy studying tape in HS to run track , or they would be his records Obviously

EB Did run track.

In fact, the weak before Scout came to do their HS combine, EB broke his wrist doing the long jump.

He wasn't going to run the 40 while Scout was there because he had a heavy cast on his arm, so he didn't even prepare, but then when the combine came around, there were rumours that the reason EB wasn't running was because he couldn't put up a time better than 4.50.

EB Said "F- that," strapped on his cleats, and ran a 4.33 with the cast on, even though he said it felt like he was running the 40 while holding a medicine ball in his arm the entire time.

A friend of mine had to run against Jonathan Wade at a track meet one time when he was in High School. I don't remember the exact circumstances, but I remember him telling me that he was suprised J Wade was there, but again I don't remember why. It was just an amateur knoxville track meet IIRC. Anyway, J Wade was in my friends heat, and obv smoked everyone, and my friend got 2nd behind J Wade and was really pissed off that he had to run against J Wade at an am. track meet.

Sh......it..with Eric Berry and D Morley in the backfield, its gonna be hard to break the big plays on us.... hopefully we can get a legitimate pass ruch this year. Ben Martin has the makings of a true stud.

Oh the start of another off-season filled with talk of the great Kenny O'Neal and all of the "fear" he is going to strike in the hearts of our opponents.

but didn't you see his one amazing catch while he was at FSU...

ya know, maybe the coaches didn't want to get him involved this year because they were scared he'd go pro early and we wouldn't have him next year. That's got to be what it is because that one highlight has 1st round written all over it :good!:

new coaches give me high hopes. Hopefully Clawson can put the whammie on all of these shenanigans and teach these kids some football and responsibility.

THC is bad for you because.. You have to go to class because... You can't get drunk and beat up a (insert gender here) because... You have to study the playbook because....

Hint: The answer to all of the above questions is.. If you do you don't play. (Except for study the playbook of course.)

Morley gave up more big plays than anyone on the roster last time he was here. He better learn his coverages.

True, but he also showed some flashes at times. He showed alot of speed and athleticism as well as the ability to lay some crushing hits.

Learning coverages and reading the WRs body language can be taught and learned. Natural athleticism and skill on a football field are much harder to come by. And to his credit, D-Mo has showed a willingness to come back to the program and get back on the field by enrolling in Pellissippi to get his grades up while working a part time job. That shows a commitment that we can hope will carry over to the field and in his studies back at UT.

I'm probably one of the bigger D-Mo homers on here, but you have to admit that after he was off the team, he could have easily given up, but he fought back and got re-instated with the team. Lets give him another shot (and I know your post was far from saying "d-mo gave up too many big plays and is a retard who will never learn the playbook we shouldn't let him back," but there are quite a few on here who bash D-Mo).

Here's to hoping Demetrice Morley comes back as a smarter player, dedicated to studying on and off the field. :crossfingers:

I don't know VKB, I think Antwan Stewart was neck and neck, maybe even ahead in that category but you are right about Morley getting his assignments straight....the guy has got the talent, just needs to play within the system.

Antwan Stewart was a much better safety than Morley. Stewart's problem came when injuries forced him to convert to cornerback, because Morley was incapable of playing that position.

Stewart was a corner to begin with where he initially played pretty decent then he got moved to safety where he was average at best, then got moved back to corner where his own knee injury was his biggest liability, he was never as good a cover man his senior season ( after his knee surgery ) than his soph. season.

Jonathan Wade and Kenny O'Neal would be a race Id like to see...I think KO would win but man, would that be fun to watch?

That would be interesting. The best verified times I can find for both are only .05 apart. (KO 10.34/JW 10.39) That could come down to who just has the best race but like you if betting I'd go KO. I'd be curious to see Vinson and Berry. They're not like the other two but both are supposed to be quite fleet.

It would just be who was running better that day.

You could have KON and JWade run 10 races on 10 different days and it would not surprise me 1 bit to hear that they split them 5/5.

I'd like to see them race Trindon Holliday. I wanna see how fast that guy really is.
i'm a former track guy and Holliday is documented as low 10 second 100m guy. If these guys raced without pads Holliday would absolutely KILL any of them. Of course, with pads on who knows.

From all the things I hear 36 year old Joey Galloway is still the fastest player in the NFL, and that includes Devin Hester. I'd be interested in seeing if anyone can beat Galloway, who was once rumored to run a 4.1 40.

Stewart was fine at safety. He understood the coverage, made limited mistakes, and didn't miss a lot of tackles. Morley just lined up deep and did whatever he felt like back there. That's why almost every QB we faced threw multiple TDs in his direction.
