Heard his name a few times last season.
Looks like he's taking well to the new system and I think I saw him mentioned somewhere as one of those guys that has gained in the weight room too.
Stronger, faster, leaner never hurts at any position, but especially Safety.

Getting excited to see what this Defense looks like !!!

Also my hope is there is not a lag from installing Knowles defense, as it was reported it was very complex. Hopefully our guys can cutdown the learning curve.

Knowles is loving what he is seeing from Farooq. He called him the top safety of the spring. I won't be shocked if he earns All SEC honors this season

GBO

Jim Knowles' defense relies heavily on the Adjuster (or middle/free safety) to anchor his hybrid 4-2-5 system. This position requires ultimate versatility, functioning as a high safety, a box defender against the run, and a key post-snap rotator.

I've heard and read that his system is easier to learn then what Bank's system is. Much more player friendly.
It is easier to play in than Banks system because Knowles won’t have lbs dropping 15 yards into zone on 3rd and 7 requiring them to cover grass then make a play in the open field. He also won’t have DL letting themselves get blocked so an LB can make the tackle. Nor will he have 2 safeties 25 yards off the Los on 3rd and 8 “keeping it in front of them” and hoping the qb makes a horrible overthrow. Nor will he show blitzes and zone blitzes early and have a DE iso on rb dropping into pass coverage and let the O check into a quick pass or wheel route as we ask the DE to cover 15 yards downfield on 3rd down instead of getting in the backfield to disrupt.
Banks was simply a dumbass with many of his ill timed calls, didnt put players in positions to make plays, got calls in late, panicked in the booth, was surprised by every offensive play call and instilled no confidence in his group while taking away their instinct to get downhill and make a play. Read, read, think, react passive bs.
Knowles defense will be more confusing to read for the offense. The defenders will know where they are going. Offense won’t.

Everyone has heard that...especially Knowles. He's changed his implementation, he brought over coaches and players at every level that know the defense to make the transition easier than in the past. If we can get a defense in the 30s we can make the playoffs.

He’ll have a great season, then demand more money. We’ll make him an offer he doesn’t think is enough and enter the transfer portal. State of college football these days.

I agree, we have to be better than last year. Maybe Knowles gets the defense to top 10 in 2 years but, I expect to see noticeable improvement this season.
