There are times during games when I can't stand the guy, but he'll go down as one of my all time favorite Vols. He's won some big games, made some big plays, but more than that, he embodies the true meaning of VFL. He'll have success wherever his life takes him.

I think Dobbs is gonna have an amazing life outside of football. I could see him going to MIT and getting a masters, I could see him going to work for some great companies.

I worry about alot of our athletes after they leave college, I'm not worried for Dobbs.

LOL. He'll be a star in the NFL.

Dobbs will be our Tom Brady. The guy folks wanted to run out of Ann Arbour as a collegiate that goes on to become a superstar in the NFL. And now all Michigan fans pretend like he was beloved all along.

Dobbs will enjoy similar success in the NFL to Russell Wilson and Randall Cunningham. That's the type of player I see him becoming at the next level.

He has quietly had an amazing career here-- broken all-time records, won multiple awards and represented the university well on and off the field. This is a special senior class. They deserve to win the SECE and go out champions.

I could see him being like Dak Prescott with the right NFL team and coaches

I'm not saying he'll be the best QB ever or a hall of famer.

The Tom Brady comparison was moreso in the sense that Brady was never appreciated at Michigan while he went to school there. Eventhough Brady was a winner in college, the fans and coaches were constantly trying to replace him (remember the obsession with Drew Henson).

Now Brady is beloved as their greatest alum ever because of his incredible pro success.

Like late 90s Michigan fans, I think alot of the people here who have been clamoring for Dobbs to get replaced the last 2 years will be pretending they were me in a few years when he becomes a smashing success in the NFL.

Agree 100%.

Dobbs is physically more talented than Dak. He's taller, more athletic, and has a stronger arm. On the right team and surrounded by the right supporting cast, I believe he can be a smashing success as well.

IMO the ideal team for Dobbs to go to would be Pittsburgh. Big Ben is getting up there in age and always misses time each season to injuries. Tomlin is a great young coach. And the Steelers have a lot of talent especially at WR and RB.

Dobbs in Pittsburgh would be a great fit.

Big difference in the two, Prescott actually can go through his reads and is not afraid to throw the ball, Dobbs....not so much.

Really? Then why did he fall to the 4th round?

I really hate revisionist history. Nobody thought Dak would be doing what he's doing right now. If they did, all 32 teams wouldn't pass on him for 3 rounds and the Cowboys wouldn't wait until the 4th round to draft him.

There were the same questions about Dak that there are about Dobbs right now. How will he adapt to a pro-style offense? Can he throw the ball accurately? Can he go through progressions?

If Dak was viewed as you claim, he wouldn't have fallen to the 4th round. He would've been the #1 overall pick.

Comparing Dobbs to QBs in NFL isn't valid. If he wants to play in NFL it's at receiver. He simply flies the ball too high or in the dirt too much. The high fliers concern the NFL as gifted defensive athletes snag those for picks.

Just... stop...

I love Dobbs, I was excited about him when he flipped to us on NSD, and I was excited when he won the starting job. He will go down as one of my all time favs..... but he will not be a star in the NFL.

Best thing for Josh will be making a quad and collecting a nice check while continuing his post graduate work.

The only reason I have you on ignore now, is so your posts stand out to me so that when I'm scrolling through all the minutia I know exactly how to find yours and give myself a good laugh.

...and his passing was excellent all day. He had the one pick, but his passing was good.

Dobbs will get a chance to play in the NFL--he'll be drafted, IMO. I have no idea where, or how he might fare, but he will get his shot.

And other QBs don't?

You guys are just more critical of Dobbs. I've seen everyone favorite QB going into the season Deshaun Watson throw as many of not more inaccurate balls.

It happens. Even Aaron Rodgers overthrows or underthrows his receivers every now and then.

The key is how many plays does a QB make? And Dobbs make plays and that's why he'll succeed in the NFL. He's a playmaker.

Is Dobbs comparable (in your estimation) to Randall Cunningham?

I'm going to miss Dobbs. One of the main reasons that we are relevant again. He's a great football player and leader. We will definitely miss him on the field.

Not quite. I have a tough time getting an exact comprable for Dobbs. He reminds me of Cunningham in terms of the elusivesness and play making when it looks like there is nothing.
