Not sure where you are seeing 4 guaranteed wins. At this point UAB would be a toss up after the season they had. Georgia St and UTC are guaranteed wins. Florida, Georgia, Alabama are guaranteed losses. Everyone else is a toss up game.
Are you kidding me??? UAB is a win, even with Dooleys worst team we were able to beat lowly other 5 teams, ok BYU might be a bigger mystery but UAB, really??

Saturday
Aug. 31Georgia State PanthersNeyland Stadium, Knoxville...........100% WIN
Sep. 7BYU CougarsNeyland Stadium, Knoxville.........................SHOULD be a win
Sep. 14Chattanooga MocsNeyland Stadium, Knoxville................100% WIN
Sep. 21at Florida GatorsBen Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville.........LOSS
Oct. 5Georgia BulldogsNeyland Stadium, Knoxville........................LOSS
Oct. 12Mississippi State BulldogsNeyland Stadium, Knoxville..................50/50 game (We could lose this one by 26 or win by 3)
Oct. 19at Alabama Crimson TideBryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa.............LOSS
Oct. 26South Carolina GamecocksNeyland Stadium, Knoxville..............50/50 game (This game is ALWAYS a one possession game)
Nov. 2UAB BlazersNeyland Stadium, Knoxville..................100% WIN
Nov. 9at Kentucky WildcatsKroger Field, Lexington.......................SHOULD win (like death and taxes we always beat UK)
Nov. 16OFFSaturday
Nov. 23at Missouri TigersFaurot Field, Columbia, MO............. 50/50 game (Lock no longer there)
Nov. 30Vanderbilt CommodoresNeyland Stadium, Knoxville..............IF this is not a win I turn in my Vol Card

4 guaranteed WINS
3 guaranteed LOSSES
3 50/50 games
2 games we SHOULD win but Vandy has had our "number"

so anywhere between 6-6......worse case senario and 9-3 BEST case
THOUGHTS?????

WHY do we have TWO off weeks????

I don't see any reason why next year you would count UF as an automatic loss apart from your lack of faith in Pruitt. You have the talent. You have the facilities. You will have two Pruitt recruited classes. Mullen is not out recruiting Pruitt so far this year. Seriously put your big boy vol pants on and root for your freaking team.

As far as Georgia... I think Kirby chokes this year against his former boss next week, and plateaus in recruiting. That being said his team is probably still going to have the raw talent level of Alabama, and hard to beat.

I wouldn't be counting the UAB as a guaranteed win. I would say they have as good a chance of beating us as BYU.

It’s a game we SHOULD win but by no means is a guaranteed win. They had their football program axed after 2014, started it back up last year and are already in their conference championship game this year. I don’t care if it is a C-USA team, if they are playing in their conference championship and we are at the bottom of the barrel then that is not a guaranteed win.

There'll be some attrition on the current roster outside the seniors that leave. May have a couple test the NFL. And likely a few more of the bad apple variety just transfer out.

All in all we likely get a lot younger, fast, headed in to 2019

Agree with the fact that the schedule lightens up ooc, and with some key departures from some conference opponents....

Just no way to know how any of that translates.

Wait and see camp for me.

Butch is taking on an almost mythical role around here as a repository of all fan grievance and blame. He has a lot of blame no doubt, but one man could not have single handedly wreaked the type of lasting havoc he is being credited with.

you're right - that belongs to Dooley first.

I am saying based on past meetings no matter what kind of team UF has we find a way to lose.

You are right in that we will not lose that many on OFFENSE.....JJ and/or MC
BUT DEFENSE is going to be where we will feel the weight ALL DL and a LB and two CB's that is where the worry needs to be.
They didn’t play defense anyways

He’s not kidding you. UAB is a good team. 9-3 , playimg for their conference championship, and beat Charlotte handily while we were beyond fortunate to escape with a win at home while being physically manhandled. The UAB game may not be 50/50, but ain’t anywhere near a 100% lock Chief. 60-40 maybe.

Florida isn't a guaranteed loss.

The turnover of senior starters and those declaring early for MissSt, FL, SCAR, Mizzou, Vandy, KY is very high. We lose about 5 starters on D next season and at least 2 of those would have been recruited over anyways.

We should win all 4 OOC games too.

I don't think Tennessee will have anyone other than possibly JJ or MC declare early. We could possibly lose a starter to transfer but I doubt it.

I'm sticking with 8 wins as the floor for this team.

Florida is a 1000%, guaranteed, lead pipe lock loss. Will you people never learn? Florida is every bit as guaranteed a loss as Alabama.

Both UAB and BYU will be challenging ooc games. We get Mississippi stars from the west so that’s a loss. Automatic losses to UGA, SCar and Mizzou.

And there ain’t no chance in hell this team wins 8 games next year. Looking at 5, 6 wins tops. OL will be no better, losing 3 seniors on the DL with only Gooden looking like a suitable replacement. Still will be weak at linebacker and safety. Does JG improve or do we start Shrout or true freshman Maurer?

No, 2019 ain’t likely to be any better than 2018... get ready for it.

We will be favored in 4 games next year

Tn -28 vs Ga St
Tn -3 vs BYU
Tn -24 vs chatt

Ga -16 vs TN
Miss St -2 vs Tn
Ala -42 vs TN

Jeremy Pruitt better find a way to beat UF next year. I’m done losing to that **** program. And he better win by 50 vs Vandy. Vandy better not beat UT the rest of my life.

What Mullen has done with Franks is remarkable and he has already recruited 3 QBs since taking over at UF. Read somewhere that they posted their best offense statistics since 2009. gators are going to have elite offense pretty soon.

That being said, CJP must focus on building this program his own way. But the east is not getting any easier.

Hate to say it but winning against Bama probably won’t happen until one of two things happen. A. Saban retires or B. They get a avg QB. He’s likely there through the 2022 season at least...

Saban has always had average QB play up until now. If his QB is average, he will just use his stable of stud RBs to wear a team down. And guess what? His defenses are ALWYAYS elite. 7 straight #1 recruiting classes in a row. Tennessee beating a Saban led Bama team just will not happen.
