Fans who left early, how do you feel now?

I was really disgusted early in the 4th quarter. If I would have been there I don’t know if I would have left or not. I do hate seeing the ends of games we lose.

I was too but I also knew deep down that they were about to turn it on and they did!

FYI, didn't go to the game and would have stayed for the ending, no matter what if I did.

Probably felt like those fans who left after the 4th down play failed against Arky with 2 mins to go in 1998...
I stayed for that one despite being sick as hell with the flu. However, had I had an aisle seat I probably would have been gone.
As for this game, I wouldn’t have blamed anyone that left. JG was horrible, the D was gassed, the play calling was questionable. JP made a desperate move, we executed it perfectly and it turned the game. That works 1/417 of the time.

After IU lead went to 22-9, we had at least 5,000 to get up and leave....including Mr. Negativity who was sitting to my right.

Apparently, none of them post on VN.

I
I never have understood why anyone would take their obvious lack of control with alcohol out in public to a ballgame (TICKETS MOST PAY GOOD MONEY FOR) and display their complete idiotism for the whole world to stomach. It’s not cute, funny, or cool and oftentimes I think of the families especially children that will more than likely have to endure many psychiatric difficulties in their lives because of it. To heavy for a sports site? Good!! I’ve never seen one positive thing come from King Alcohol. I’m embarrassed and sad that your precious niece had to be exposed to that!!!

Ive seen lots of good come with alcohol..

Ive seen very little good come fron sloppy drunks though.

I would never leave a sporting event that I had to travel to and/or pay good money to see. I paid to see it and I want to see every minute of it - good or bad. I realize that not everyone feels this way, but I do. As aggravated as I was at our Vols, there was a chance that they could win and they did. I just can't imagine leaving early and missing that ending. That was my first bowl game ever. I would have never forgiven myself.

Of all the sporting events I have ever attended, I have only left early one time. A UTC homecoming game against App State when they were in their FCS heyday. App State scored whenever they wanted to, and honestly I don't remember if UTC scored at all. When they scored their 6th touchdown I told my wife that we were leaving. They scored again before we got to the car. I still don't regret that decision.

Don’t ever leave a game when there is at least a chance of the Vols coming back. I’ve seen so many Vol comebacks in football and basketball

Hell I don't even leave when we are taking a knee to end a one possession game. This team is crazy. And of course in 2010 when the final score showed us as the game winner twice and we ended up losing.

I was at the Gator Bowl and never considered leaving early. Mainly because we drove 9 hours down to watch the game (and do other fun stuff but yeah) so I would feel like I wasted money if I left early. Glad I didn't though. Some around me did.

I'm glad you saw good but I'll confidently stand by my observation that I've seen literally no good whatsoever. I do however stand with you on the last point and the sloppy drunk though .....nothing more embarrassing and "feeling sorry for" in a teased sort of way to see one drunk especially, of all places, at an athletic contest.:rolleyes:

It never even crossed my mind to leave. I was too pissed after Tee threw it away on 4th down.
I was pissed that we had abandoned the run and threw on every down. There was plenty of time left to run the ball and Henry was on fire. I didn’t leave. But me and 90,000 others were thoroughly dejected. Looked as if our first #1 ranking since’67 was for naught. The lightning struck, the football goods look in favor and we got our championship. I told my brother as we flew back on the red eye from Phoenix “I will never be upset by a football game again. I lied.

It’s funny that a lot of fans think of the Florida game being the biggest game that year but I’ll never see anything like that Arkansas game in person again. 2 undefeated teams in November, it was cold and rainy, we were down 18 at home, we were losing and had given up the ball with about 2 minutes left and only 1 timeout and somehow we pulled it out. That was the first time I sat in the upper deck as I was a student and usually got lower level seats. I seriously thought the upper deck was coming down. It was bouncing for sure as you could feel it. Just seeing 2 undefeated teams in November is pretty rare but add the rest in and that was a one time experience. I love your last line though. That was funny.
