Fans need to pack TBA

I like Diet Coke, Diet DP, and Diet Mountain Dew. Beyond those, diet sodas are pretty blah. Coke Zero is fair.

I can drink Diet DP, Diet Pespi, Pepsi Max (or whatever it's called) and Coke Zero, sometimes Diet Sun Drop. I used to drink Mountain Dew by the gallon but Diet Mountain Dew is awful.

I can't drink regular soft drinks anymore; way too much sugar and I feel like I'm getting diabetes drinking one.

I don't really drink them but when I do I don't drink diet. Nothing better than a coca cola classic in a can. Diet coke tastes like poison. All those zero calorie drinks taste like garbage to me.

I wasn't being literal but in all seriousness our fans need to get off their asses 5-10 times a game. I'd say we only stand a few times in games now. Need to understand the game better and get to our feet more often imo

I understand the game extremely well. Standing the entire game doesn't accomplish anything. The most electric times in TBA are when a couple of big plays happen and the crowd comes to its feet and roars. Standing the entire game just screaming AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! You standing up in a game is not the difference between a win and a loss. I'm all for the push to have more people at the games and for everybody to stand and cheer at the right times. This narrative that sitting vs standing is the difference in your level of fandom is ridiculous.

Yea not sure who said it was

Good post and I agree. Imo fans like yourself makeup a smaller % of the TBA crowd.

The larger % needs to be more active by getting off their butts 5-10 games while not standing for long periOds of time if one of our older fans are sitting directly behind out of respect.

In turn that fan isn't going to tell me to sit down because being a fan should be an active participant thing within reason for 5-10 times a game for short periods of time.

I've been going to the games since the late 60's and currently sit in a section that has people my age as well as younger and several even older. I stand up and clap more than almost anyone in our section, player introductions , exciting plays, etc.. The guy right in front of me is probably in his late 20's or early 30's and hasn't stood up once all year. He also doesn't wear anything orange so may just be a casual fan. I do feel weird standing because of the people behind me not standing and do not want to block their view. I would say 40-50% of most TBA crowds are age 50+. Also, when half the student section is empty like it was for LSU, TBA is pretty quite.

I've only been to TBA a couple times but anytime I'm at a game and see an older couple or person behind me I try the best I can to be respectful and stand only when I really need too. For the most part I stay seated but if a big play happens or it's a close game with less than a minute left......sorry, I'm standing.
