I understand the hesitancy early in the year as fans weren’t really sure what to expect with this team, but with 5 home games left this season there is no excuse. This team on paper is still in the running for what would arguably be a Top 3 regular season in the history of Tennessee basketball, they deserve as many people there as possible cheering them on.

I would love to see the PR team at Tennessee get out and do some stuff this week, for both the casual fan and students on campus. The 2 home games this week are VERY winnable and winning those games would only further the hype train that is currently rolling. IDC if Tennessee needs to offer $10 upper level seats to get parents and their kids out of the house, do it, it’s better than those seats being vacant. Offer incentives to the students to get out there and go, now they’ve been solid for bigger games but they can be even better as well. TBA is a huge building and can get quiet, take some initiative as an administration to pack the place and find ways to keep that energy going.

I don’t often post rah-rah stuff like this but I thought it was deserving and maybe even some of the football guys will see it...if you’ve not been to a game, or have kids, or family or whatever that haven’t, this is a great time to take them out to a game. You’ve got a Top 20 ranked team that is trending upwards, they play a fun brand of basketball and you’ve got a coach/players that are really fun to get behind and support.

Next game is Wednesday at 6:30 against LSU, they aren’t world beaters but they’ve knocked off some ranked teams this year already and have one of/if not the best PG in the conference. Not sure how much tickets are through the ticket office but you can always buy them off the street pre-game for pretty cheap, early game means the kids will even be home and in bed by a decent time, go out and support the Vols.

GBO!

I agree, though I think the weekend games will be fine; it's the mid week games that need work.

Also really, really need to win these next 2, because the 2 after are going to be really tough.

Need to win 4 of the next 11 or 12 to pretty much wrap up an NCAAT bid. It's a lot more difficult if these next two aren't wins.

Hate to miss this one, but drive a church van on Wednesday nights for our young people. Love my Vols, but church comes first. I do have 6 tickets section 313 row 2 for 5 bucks each for the LSU game. I live in Kingsport and just is impossible to make it. GO BIG ORANGE.

People just aren't gonna stand the whole game. Not gonna happen in there especially not for LSU and Ole Miss.

I think BTO makes a good point. Time for the marketing/PR team to push for fans to show up big.

Wouldn't hurt Rick Barnes to encourage fans to get to TBA. JMO.

It wouldn’t hurt and it crossed my mind, but I just know it’s probably not likely. 90% of it is winning and he’s done that, if the PR people would just hype it a bit and ticket office would run some good deals the place would be packed. Hell even do another one of those bring 2 school items get in for free events.

If I was him I'd sent out a tweet.

"Two home games this week. Let's pack TBA."

Standing would be a reason I wouldn't go. No way my back would last that long

I wasn't being literal but in all seriousness our fans need to get off their asses 5-10 times a game. I'd say we only stand a few times in games now. Need to understand the game better and get to our feet more often imo

Watching ISU was depressing, that’s a fun crowd.

I used to be a season ticket holder and attended a ton of games from the Kevin Oneil era and all the way up to now. The bigger the crowd the more often they get up. TBA is just too big and it takes a little bit of excitement to get the crowd up and excited.

It's kinda like it takes a lot to get that place rocking but when it does it can become a force.

It's definitely not often you see that place self motivate.

I only get to go to handful of games a year because u live hours away but I took my son who is 9 to the auburn game. He had watched the Arkansas game a few days earlier and he had two very telling comemments during the game.

We took a 5 pt lead in the second half and he and myself were standing and cheering but only to see ourselves as the lone fans standing. His comment was if this was Arkansas this place would be excited.

Then on the way home he said maybe we need to be Arkansas fans because they care about basketball.

All that from just watching the Arkansas game on Tv

I had zero doubt in my mind you'd make this suggestion. As soon as I read BTO's line about the marketing team, I knew Ziti would have a field day with it. Moth to flame.

Yeah, that's a little extreme.

TBA was awesome for years. It can get back there.

Next year when that attendance jumps it is gonna be a different atmosphere.

I'm not ripping him.

Just a suggestion. BTO agreed.

Not trying to start anything. He should though do it though. It's a simple thing that would get results.

I know. It was a passive-aggressive prod. I just saw it coming a mile away. And FWIW, I agree with you. Social Media makes mass communication so easy now. I guess the only issue may be that people who follow Barnes will probably be at the game anyway. What would really help is if Pruitt, Vols Football, and other known entities helped spread the word.

I just don't see how Rick Barnes making a statement for people to go to the game would accomplish much. I can't see people being like "well I wasn't going to go, but now that Rick Barnes said that I should I guess I will"... lol

Now if he takes his shirt off and paints his chest at a Lady Vols game that's a different story lol :)

I agree with this. I think that this would help more. Most of the causal UT fans don't follow the team like they do with football, so they probably don't even follow CRB. They might look at the score the next day and see if we win and say cool, and if we lose hop on VN and fire up some threads (Lol jk about the last part).
