One of the things I have always enjoyed about cheering on the Vols at Neyland is the feeling that as a fan, we have influence on the outcome of the game. Getting loud when the team is on D, esp. 3rd down, watching the team respond to the crowd. It's a special place.

I just have to say that I hate...hate it...when fans leave early. I cannot imagine a good excuse - beat traffic? traffic home is part of the experience, you plan for it. Team is losing badly? they're still your team, cheer them on. They blow out the opponent? great! it's a W! stay and let them know you appreciate the effort.

I travel from out of state to see 1 game a year - we saw the WC game just because the price was right. Had an amazing day - but the worst part for me was watching the fans clear out starting in the 2nd quarter.

I'm sure people have whined about this on this site before... i just don't get it.

I left the game early because I had a person sit in front of me that smelled like onion rings and sweat... and we were up by 30... Sorry, but not really...

I don't have a problem with fans leaving early in the 4th quarter, but I've never understood people that leave at half time. It makes me wonder why you would even go to the game in the first place. Just a thought, I'm not calling anyone out.

Did you see the fourth quarter? Every play was a run up the middle I think. Boring.

I'm glad the two old women in front of me left early. I don't mind the seat backs that are already out there but I don't think you should be allowed to bring your own in the stadium. They each had one that was too big for their seat. And try to push it back as far as it would go. I'm 6'4 I can only move my legs back so far. It's a stadium you don't get to sprawl out and lay down if you want to do that stay at home.

Been a season ticket holder since the middle 70s. went to a lot of these games with this type competition. Went to games starting in 1965.

These game ALWAYS empty half of the stadium after half time. This is nothing.

Typically I go around to gate 21 at halftime to meet friends and talk the first half. Hundreds of fans are always leaving at halftime no matter who we are playing and what the score is.

There are a lot of people who just view going to a game as a social encounter with friends. that is why they buy season tickets. It is who they are and what they do..

End of third quarter is another time when a lot of fans head home or to their favorite bar.

I normally stay in my seat up to 30 minutes after the game.. just not in a hurry to get jammed up in the concourse.

My bad, me and mine left early. I think the fans we were around might have thanked us, but didn't want to be that guy. My wife and I took our twin 2 yr olds and the 7 year old to their first game a Neyland. Between the five of us usually one of us was grumpy, including me. Not about the game just taking babies to a 4 hour event it gets ugly, we are going to use this experience to game plan better to be able to finish a game strong. It's about being aggressive (I forgot the shakers, the girl baby was grumpy about that)with the littles to ensure they are happy, I'm just happy to be at the game, add family it's just better. I've been to a few Florida games both at the swamp and Neyland, I'm hoping they will be a good luck charm and break the jinx I keep bringing to the game(me). I do have a good feeling about this game, it's all working out for me to have a blast, break the jinx, win the game, and head on back to the great state of TENNESSEE. That's right we all going swamp stomping.
GO VOLS! RUN the TABLE!

I sat there until the end but once we decided to only run off tackle and not take advantage of half the 3rd and the entire 4th quarter it sorta pissed me off.

It's not like our offense doesn't need the reps at game speed.

I sorta wished I had left once we decided to stop playing offense!

Fans pay their money. They've been stars so far this young season. When they choose to leave is their business. Especially season ticket holders who make every home game and probably a road game or two. They put their money where their mouth is. They can do as they please IMO.

Fans leave early because we are winning big or losing big.

As long as we are winning big, I say leave early, beat the traffic or find your favorite watering hole to celebrate if you so desire!

My buddy had a brand new knee and couldn't make it to his crummy seat this time. I will tell him he owes you an apology for leaving early after standing as long as he could.

Honestly, people need to mind their own business. If you didn't buy their ticket, what do you have to complain about?

Don't have a problem with it at all. It was a FCS team folks... we didn't even try to score most of the second half so, I would've left in the 4th qr too.

The people in front of us left after the first quarter. Very strange.

We left in the 4th when it was run, run, run, punt for a couple drives. We weren't going to see anything interesting at that point.

I leave when I have too. If I have kids, I leave early in the fourth qtr no matter what as I cannot walk with three young boys through 100k fans. If I don't have kids, I stay and sometimes I leave. All depends on what is going on afterwards (church in the a.m., wife watching the kids all day so I can go to a game, etc.) . All this to say..... I have no problem with it as each situation with each person is different.

Ain't that the truth! I won't bother with "excuse me or sorry folks" any more when going to get something as people just sit there like turds with a bad attitude anyway.
