Fans disappointment in blowout loss

The SEC screwed up a bit by not putting Mizzoui in the west division and putting Auburn in the east, IMO. Would have made the balance of strength much closer.

You'd rather play Auburn every year?

I think Mizzou-Tennessee is more beneficial for both programs and fanbases

We were horrible last week but I give WV some credit. They are a good team and should be no worse than 10-2 this year.

I’m over the suck. Win the next two then see the Gators.

Regardless of the final score, I expected more physicality and intensity from our team. I expected to see a team fired up to prove that last year's 4-8 season was a fluke and show everybody that we are better than what the record showed. I expected to see a team with a "killer" instinct that would swarm to the ball on defense and maul people on the O-Line. However I didn't see any of that at all on Saturday. I saw a team that looked lethargic and flat out weren't mentally focused and ready to play this game. How in the world do you come out this way on the first game of the season? That IS on coaching. Compare this game to say, the 2014 Oklahoma game. It was clear that OU was better than we were talent wise, but we played hard in that game and laid licks until the final whistle. THAT is what I wanted to see in this first game but we didn't show up to play. Would it have made a difference on the scoreboard? I don't know. However that is what disappointed me and what I can't get out of my head. We didn't look properly prepared for this game.

This== Very well said. I have to echo that I was shocked by the lack of intensity. I got the sense that most of the players did not want to be out there. If pruitt has lost this team already it will get ugly quick.

What was fascinating was watching the Jeremy Pruitt show afterwards. He could immediately point out the one missed assignment that would cause an entire play to be blown up on O or D.

Attention to details is an old cliche phrase but it is extremely important for UT to master. If we could avoid that one missed assignment or mistake, the WV game would've been a much closer ballgame. Hopefully CJP can work out those kinks before the Florida game.

He is pretty interesting to listen to. Boring as heck but I love the technicality about what's going on on the field.

No disappointment looked good in the first half then let it get out of hand in the second half. Tennessee could have scheduled a cupcake just like over half of the SEC did but they chose not to, plus WVU has an Heisman runner at QB. If they would have blown out a cupcake opponent would we all be talking about how great they are, Florida is ranked now due to a blow out of a cupcake opponent. I'm fine, 6 wins is what I expected this year no more maybe less.

This is the issue.....we lost. The horse is dead. For the love of humanity, stop kicking the dead horse....he ain’t moving.

It’s not front page news that we got beat bad by the Mountaineers.....I expected it and so did most everybody else. Yes, we lacked intensity and aggressiveness. I expected to see that with Pruitt at the helm....but.....it’s game 1. We’ve got a long way to go and nothing to do but get better.....and I believe we will.

If we had beat a “cupcake” team, people would still be griping about something. “We didn’t win by enough points.....we gave up too many rushing yards.....we didn’t throw the ball good enough”.....and so on and so forth.

Let’s just support the boys in orange and stop pissing and moaning.

i think the blow loss was bad just for the fact that it confirmed almost every single concern/question anyone had with this team. and even for those of us, self included, that were feeling more optimistic about having some "right answers" to those questions, we also knew that if wrong, then all those 6-6/5-7 type predictions were closer to being right than we wanted/hoped/believed.

this team will get better. so much better that it directly impacts a result, especially in any of the 5 games in the meat of the schedule? doubtful.

and it makes those last 4-5 games a lot more competitive than any of would hope they'd be.

go to a bowl game. that's all i hope for at this point. gotta find a way to win 3 out of UF, USCe, MO, Vandy, KY, and today, that seems more difficult than it did this time last week.

No real fan was as sick as I was after the loss, but what we all have to understand is JP was handed the keys to a 65 rambler and had to take it to a nascar track, right now we don't have what it takes to compete, but if everyone will give JP time we will have what it takes to compete, but it will at least 3 years to be at the level where we can compete, and 4 before we can compete for SEC championship just give the man a chance sit back the ride is going to be bumpy for a while but it will get better much much better. GO VOLS!!!
