Fanbase is Fed up

Lane was taunting the fans all night. He did it on the way into the stadium, he did it with the BS "injuries" every time we started to get some momentum, the icing the kicker 3 times to end the half, his players were taunting the fans as stuff was raining down, and he was taunting them on his way out of the stadium. Combine that with the BS TD call back, not calling holding when Ole Miss was doing it all night, terrible spots for Tennessee, favorable spots of Ole Miss, a holding call on Tennessee on our last chance drive, and a questionable call on the 4th down to give Ole Miss the ball back, you get a powder keg.

The fans at the stadiums behavior is inexcusable, but there were a number of factors that lead to the outrage that fueled it. Those things need to be addressed. But they won't be. The narrative will be all about the fans and how classless we are and no one will say a word about Lane and his behavior or the biased officiating that everyone knows happens in favor of ranked teams. I am not justifying or excusing throwing stuff at players/coaches/officials, I'm really not. It was dangerous and completely irresponsible. But heaping more @#$% on the fan base isn't going to fix this, It'll make it worse.

This isn't a product of the way the world is now. It's a throwback to the days gone by. An angry mob of Vol fans once chased a group of referees across campus with intent to do great bodily harm to them. It's more a throwback to that era. It's dumb and pointless to throw things but alcohol, fanaticism and terribly blown calls by the officials fueled it. Throw in 40 faked injuries and Lane and it was fire and gasoline.

I truly believe the fanbase has lost their patience.

Ole Miss players taunting the fans and players, faking injuries to slow down our momentum, incompetent officiating, completely ruined a good game.

The fans are tired of being bullied and they finally snapped tonight.
Someone knows what is actually going on.

Combine the horrible officiating and the dozens of fake injuries all at the hands of the guy who fled the scene in the middle of the night, and is partially responsible for the program circling the toilet bowl for years, and this is what you get. It reached a tipping point and the lid came off.

Throwing stuff isn't okay. It's abhorrent. But I can definitely understand the frustration. All of us can. We've all lived it for the last decade. Just need to let the boys on the field walk the walk and back them up. They played hard tonight. Let's crank out a few more wins and snag a bowl somewhere that's warm this winter.

Doesn't excuse the behavior.

I was at the game, and I saw Vol fan throw a can of beer from the upper deck that hit another Vol fan in the bottom deck. That's gotta be a metaphor for something...

The fact that anyone is trying to justify the actions of our fans is a complete joke. It was totally classless and has no place in college sports. Sad because it legit makes me question if I should ever take my young kids to a game.

Oh and by the way, it wasn’t a first down anyway.
Oh shut up!! It was one night give me a freaking break. You don’t give up on anyone because of one extremely frustrating mistake. And you apparently know nothing about the hurt lane Kiffin caused this fan base and it showed that the hurt is still there.

Yep. Every break going against us. Them calling back that td with basically no explanation. The ref comes in from 10 yards behind the ball and spots the ball a yard short (and of course to overturn a call means needing irrefutable/dna evidence). Which makes no sense. Why doesn’t the replay official spot the ball exactly where he thinks it belongs? He has a way better chance to get it right than the offical way behind the play in real time. To all the fake injuries. Bizarre. And forget about all that…if we abandon that stupid delayed run with small amd just roll hooker out amd have him either throw or run we probably win. Always tough to be a run fan.
The way the SEC works is the higher ranked team gets the calls.Just watch Bama most years…it’s all about money

There was, is, and never will be an excuse for how our fans behaved tonight under any circumstances, period. Absolutely classless.

If you speak out about the fan behavior tonight only to follow it up with a “but”, you’re just as classless as the folks chunking stuff not only at the Ole Miss team, but the Tennessee Cheerleaders, Band members, and dance team……

It should not be hard to unequivocally say what the fans did tonight was moronic.

“There was, is, and never will be an excuse for how SOME fans behaved tonight under any circumstances, period. Absolutely classless”

Fixed it

It certainly was classless……..”our fans” encompasses all of us. Most fans………dare I say the vast majority of fans…….did nothing wrong at all.

Who cares what everyone thinks about TN. The only people that care about TN are fans of TN and the people involved with the program. I don’t agree with people throwing stuff on the field but our fan base is at a boiling point with referees in every sport. We always get the short end of the stick. I understand every now and then there are horrible calls that don’t go your way but there are multiple instances of this happening to us over an extended period of time. Referees are never held accountable. As for Jordan Rodgers saying “it’s not a good look for Tennessee fans”, I say it’s not a good look you got to be on “The Bachelorette” because of who your older brother is. Also we have more fans that can throw stuff onto a field than Vandy can put into their high school stadium. That’s not a good look for the SEC either. There’s a lot of things that aren’t a good look. Get over it.

do you really think this game is about you? You don't go through the grind of practices and games, you just show up to party at a football game. The players are embarrassed when our fans act stupid like they did tonight. So sorry if you feel like you were bullied tonight. Grow up and grow a pair.

I’m just tired, period.
I’m not sure how much more I can handle?
When do we start winning these games?
I watched us get screwed by the refs, get screwed by some untimely, questionable play calling, fans acting like complete goons, players dropping like flies, Kiffin walking out of Neyland with the satisfaction of beating us, a QB that didn’t even attempt to throw in the end zone on the last play of the game and I don’t know if I can take it anymore?🤷‍♂️
GBO!!

There is zero excuse to throw projectiles that can injure someone over a game, no matter how much you care about the game. Secondly the idiots were hitting Ole Miss players and Tennessee cheerleaders, dance team, etc. Just absolutely embarrassing after a team plays their ass off for you to do this to them.

For the first time in a while this team is doing the program proud and some idiotic fans just embarrassed the program.
