Much to my chagrin, I've only been following Tennessee football for about 15 years or so. Since I haven't "seen the light" for as long as some of you "wiser" fans out there I wanted to get your take on who the most famous UT football players are...

#1: of all time
#2: current, or pretty recent

basically if someone who knew nothing of UT football asked who the most famous guys were, who would be your top 5 or 10 if you want to go that far?

of all time, I think of payers like:
Peyton, of course
Reggie White
Doug Atkins
Carl Pickens
Willie Gault
Kieth DeLong

recently:
Peyton
Jamal Lewis
Leonar Little
Jason Witten
Al Wilson
Al Haynesworth
Donte Stallworth
Deon Grant
et cetera

Stanley Morgan and Hacksaw Reynolds probably merit some mention as historical players. For CD I will throw Haskel Stanback in there as well. Being a Phin's fan I would think that Fuad Reveiz has some name recognition.

I'm guessing that Big John Henderson was part of the "et cetera."

There was a thread not long ago about under appreciated Vols. Looking back through names reminds me that Jackie Walker probably belongs near the top of that list...

Wrong DeLong, go with Steve instead. Best ones I notice missing: Steve Kiner, Chip Kell, Bob Johnson, Stanley "Steamer" Morgan -played RB and converted to WR, Anthony Hancock, Curt Watson, Reggie Cobb, Chuck Webb, Johnnie Jones, Robert Shaw, Condredge Holloway, Tony Robinson, Terry McDaniel, Tim Irwin, Bruce Wilkerson, Harry Galbreath, Antone Davis, Charles McCrae, Dale Carter, Tim Priest, Conrad Graham, Mark Studaway, Darwin Walker, Shaun Ellis, Dale Jones, Earnest Fields, Raynoch Thompson, and many many more.

Have not seen Bobby Majors name on the list yet. I remember his Sr. year he took down PennSt. on his own. I believe he was an All-American.
