Fallout 3

The Pitt was great. Lots of new raider type armors, although they are kind of derivatives of the stock kinds. A few new pieces of weaponry.

The trogs are challenging, particularly because of the situation and condition you are in when you first encounter them (trying not to spoil).

The storyline is dark, and fits in with the rest of the game really well. There is no clear "right" or "wrong" outcome, as both are disturbing and each side of the argument has its merits. I Thoroughly enjoyed the main quest, and haven't finished some of the side ones yet. The Pitt's design is beautiful and detailed, in a post-apocalyptic way. It isn't really like anything in the stock game. I really liked it.

If you have used any of the multiple companion exploits/glitches, the Pitt will mess that up when you start the quest as they will all be sent home and can't come with you. You can get them all back after the main quest of the Pitt, though.

I am excited about broken steel, as well. Basically, this has been the first game whose DLC has all been worth the price to me. 10 bucks each is good. To think that I will have spent 30 bucks total for all 3 makes me feel like i got a bargain, given how many hours of quality gameplay I have gotten from them, and unique items that also make the stock game that much more cool.

i haven't bought any of the DLC so far, but i've been looking forward to Broken Steel for awhile since you can play after you finish the game. from what i've seen of the pitt, it had an insane amount of bugs in it when it was first released. hopefully that doesn't happen with this one.

I wouldn't know about that, I didn't get it until last week. I always let a week or so pass before getting something like that, because it usually IS buggy. The Pitt's fine now, though.

Anyone download Broken Steel? Raising the level cap and allowing you to keep playing after you finish the main story is worth the $10.

The new perks added with the increase in level cap are quite interesting, if not powerful game play-wise.

One level 30 perk sets all your SPECIAL stats at 9 (Almost Perfect), and and another causes you to erupt in a large nuclear explosion when your health falls below 20% that you are presumably immune to, but your companions/enemies/passersby near you are definitely not (Nuclear Anomaly).

Can't wait to try that last one out.

I've only come across the new super mutant. A steady pulse of the flame thrower on him eventually made him melt.

Ya, these guys don't go down easy. It'll be tough on stealth-dependent characters especially, as you can't one or two-hit them to kill them.

This is the only game that paying $90 for doesn't seem bad.

I know, I have probably sunk over 300 hours into this game, all told. The only other 360 game I have played so much is NCAA football 09. Most games I don't get my money out of like this.

I put well over 100 hours in Oblivion and almost that much in Fallout 3 already. Bethseda makes the best games.

Oblivion is a little over rated. Morrowind was a superior game in every way, for their respective times. Oblivion often felt like a chore, and the way the world leveled with your character to the point of highway robbers having daedric armor was ridiculous on many different levels and a total immersion breaker.

They learned their lesson in Fallout 3, though, with more hand-placed loot and less leveled items.

i tried out oblivion last summer and gave it a few hours until i finally gave up on it. i thought it was kind of overrated

The new weapons in Broken Steel are a lot better than the ones in the other two DLC's.

The ghoul reavers are a pain to beat, even with better weapons.

I am pretty skeptical about the quality of a Fallout made someone else, who isn't exactly known for quality lately. yes, I do know it is some of the same people who made the original.

Yeah, it kinda seems like they are trying to get by off the hype of Fallout 3. I'll wait until Bethseda makes its next game.

Oblivion is probably the best RPG of this decade. I logged of 130 hrs on this gem. I can't wait for the next Elder Scrolls.

I have to agree with swil. Oblivion was awesome IMO. I didn't care too much for fallout 3, because of the endgame (or lack there-of). That was a HUGE disappointment for me. I really liked Oblivion's theme too. I like more of a sword and magic theme, than an apocolyptic America theme. I played morrowind and absolutely hated it. It was very boring to me. It took forever to do anything, and I just could never get into it.
