Fade requesting prayers

VN, I'm well aware that I'm not everyone's most beloved poster, but I am requesting prayers today. I found out just a couple of hours ago that my grandfather passed away. He was an usher at Neyland for nearly 40 years, from the late 60s til the mid 2000s and was a true VFL. One of my favorite memories in life was watching the 4th quarter of Peyton's last home game after he was done ushering. He came down and sat with me and my wife and we watched Peyton lead the band. He was 82. Thanks VN.
I'm very sorry to hear that. I lost two grandparents within 6 weeks of each other last Spring. When they're gone, you realize they were some of the smartest people and best friends you could ever hope to have. Glad to hear you have such positive memories.

Fade u and I have our differences on things but I will admit I'm jealous of the memories u had with ur gf. Those are memories that many, I included, would have loved to say we had. Either being Vol related or not. Just remember how blessed u were to have the opportunities to have those memories so far along in life and the added bonus of being able to have those with ur wife. The 2 of u will always have those memories of him to remember. He will never be forgotten I'm sure.

Btw - I was on the 1st row of Neyland on that game and will never forget seeing the Vandy cheerleaders rush him for a pic when he was making his rounds. Great memory I'm sure!!

Best of luck to u and urs during the next few days. God bless.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Try and rejoice in the memories you got to share with him and the time you had with him. I hate that he never got to see UT rise back to Rocky Top of the World, but his aerial seats in Heaven are the best seats in the house for the future greatness coming to Tennessee.

IF you can, take comfort in the things he did, the memories he left you and he can rest comfortabley as a VFL

I was at that game with my mom sitting not 20 feet away from the ladder Peyton was standing on... I'll never forget that game and will be pushing up a prayer for you and your family...

82 is a good long life; especially doing what you love, and He obviously loved ushering at Neyland (who wouldn't). So celebrate your Grandfather's wonderful life and be grateful you had him around for a good long time. This would be my wish. Remember all the good. rip
