1. You cannot win a game when the opponent has the ball almost a full quarter more than you (Georgia had possession 13:16 more than we did)

2. You cannot win a game when you go 4/17 on 3rd down.

3. You will never win a game when you never make it to the Red Zone the entire game.

4. You cannot win a game if you turn the ball over 3 times.

5. You will never win a game in the SEC with -1 rushing yards.

6. 10 penalties for 84 yards is practically responsible for at least 2 touchdowns.

Honestly, the fact that we scored 21 points is amazing. I'm not knocking Pruitt. I still think he is the guy.

But our offense didnt get it done. And because they literally couldnt sustain a drive long enough to get it in the red zone even one time, our defense got gassed. I think Georgia had 30 players that played over 100 snaps on defense last year? They had plenty of depth on defense, and their defense dominated our offense with the exception of some splash plays.

Basically? The offensive line tonight blew it. Sure, JG screwed up too. But when they couldnt open up holes for the run game, they set us up to rely too much on JG.

I am literally embarrassed that we netted -1 yards in what was SUPPOSED to be our strength.

But with those stats I just posted? We are lucky it wasnt worse.

I am glad the streak is over, and that monkey is off our back, but I really expected much more of a closer game today.

I didn't expect a win. I was hoping we could keep it close for recruiting purposes. Still. I don't believe Georgia is 23 points better than we are. It's true, that our defense got gassed in the second half. That is the reason for the lopsided loss. What baffles me is that Pruitt refuses to put in another QB, regardless of how JG is playing. We need experience going into next year.
I do think Georgia is the class of the SEC this year. Even over Alabama.

UGA gave 7 on the second play....

Watching Ole Miss v. Bummer right now. Kiffin’s team would beat us like a drum. It wouldn’t be close.

I thought the game against GA today would be competitive, but it wasn’t. Very disheartening.

The winner of tomorrow’s scrimmage wins the starting job against KY.....and JG won’t be participating

Bingo.

Old coaches will always tell you- everyone runs the same plays. It’s not the X’s and O’s, but the jimmies and the joes.

Like....3 plays got us 21 points today. A bad snap by Georgia, and two splash plays that resulted in touchdowns.

And sure, that's awesome. I was pumped and yelling. We scored more on them than anyone else had so far.

BUT, don't let that mislead you. Our offense was horrible today. Could not sustain drives.

Today reminded me of the 2008 season, I think? Fantastic defense, but offense couldnt stay on the field long enough for the defense to matter.

Our defense manned up and made some HUGE plays. But no defense can be consistently great when they're on the field for 80+ plays and 36 minutes.

Our offense has got to do better at sustaining drives, and that's got to start with the OL and the QB. The OL didnt open up holes for the backs, and therefore allowed us to become one dimensional.

I am literally gobsmacked by any blame that isn't directly attributed to JG. When are you people going to figure out how badly his lack of ability to read a defense is costing us games? How many nobody QBs that come out of nowhere that help their teams do you need to see to understand how badly our team is being held back by a QB who simply cannot figure it out?

Personally, I enjoyed watching the defense today......right up until the offense's performance hung them out to dry. Com'on, 2nd quarter, 4th and and a 1/2 yard, one second to go and the Vols stuff the try. After they stuffed 3rd down. Awesome. Yeah, they need to clean some things up, but they played really good for 3+/- quarters. Offense? Still didn't get off the bus.

He obviously was terrible in second half but our WRs could not get open against their press man to man, our OL could not provide any running room for RBs or provide JG any time to throw. If you think JG was the only problem in the second half you don't know much about football.

Yeah, I've heard this for the entire time JG has been here. Maybe one day his apologists will consider how corrosive his play to nearly every aspect of this team's performance.

Who is apologizing for JG? Did you miss the part where I said he was terrible in the second half?

Let's check...yep there it is in the very first sentence.

Those are not facts. Auburn won a bowl game a couple years ago with like 15 mins of possession. And they won by over 40 points.

Time of possession mattering is an old school myth that has long been debunked. Everyone gets the same number of possessions, it is what you do with those possessions.

CAVol, JGs abilities are definitely holding us back. But if a 22 year old is told he is the starting QB for the University of Tennessee, do you expect him to say no? This is on Pruitt. He has failed to either develop JG, or realize JG has hit his ceiling and, I dunno, BRING IN A FREAKING TRANSFER? If a NASCAR driver elects to drive a Yugo in multiple races , and loses each one badly, is it really fair to blame the Yugo? No. You blame the idiot who put the Yugo out there...over and over and over.....

Bull&$#@. JG is starting every game this year. Thinking anything else is silly.

We also won with 1/12 3rd downs vs USCe. That's far worse than 4/17.

Here is something else to consider. Either JG is the best option we have or Pruitt is incompetent and can't be trusted to evaluate the offense play callers. Which one is true IYO?

Not "setting" the blame elsewhere. Sharing the blame. You think the ol was OK?
No, I don't. But I have a hard time blaming the OL for over four years due to a QB who cant read a defense, can't hit the hot route, and can't consistently stretch the field downfield. So maybe, just maybe, our garbage QB's performance has a lot to do with our OL's troubles.

There is a 3rd option: Pruitt has failed to recruit JG's replacement. So yes, I hold him accountable in a different way.

He sucks, we know he sucks, hell the team knows he sucks. That said he sucks much less when he has protection. The Oline was supposed to be a strength to cover up some of his weakness. They looked worse than JG tonight.
