Yes he would get a major coaching job. Other ADs and college presidents knows what he has to rebuild here at UT. There is a reason NO other big name coach would come here after what was left. He didn't want to put in the hard work to rebuild Tennessee back up. Dooley didn't even recruit any O-linemen one year. I think all Butch needs to do is hire a real good OC. Then some different coaches at certain places. And you people are talking about the coaches not throwing the ball. There is a reason for that. Dobbs can't throw the ball over 15 yards and hit a WR. Anything over 15 to 20 yards and he missed them. But right now he is the best that we have. So we have to live with it.

This is why I always tell the Vol fans that are making a coaching candidates list to take it over to another team's board for an opinion. If you won't listen to your own fans tell you you're ridiculous then maybe you'll listen to another fanbase.

I hate agreeing with you 99, unfortunately it happens a bunch. I'd want a change if I was a uga fan. Simply put, there's not another program that has recruited as well as uga over the past 12 years or so and yet never once really competed for a national championship. The closest they came was playing a close game with bama in the seccg. And they were a 2 loss team that year that only made it to the game because of the east being weak

Mark Richt is a real good coach. If there's one coach I would like to see win a National Championship taking Butch out of course, it would be Richt. He's has always been a class act since he's been at GA. It never seems to fail when GA gets in a big game, they always seem to find a way to blow it.

I read every word. This gator fan has more intelligence and insight than 90% of the people on this site. I've been attending games since Bill Battle was coach. Have not been so embarassed to be associated with this fan base as I have in the past two weeks.

Butch Jones took over a program that had been left for dead by Derek Dooley. Left. For. Dead. The roster had to be completely rebuilt. Did any of you go to a Vol Walk say in 2012 and see what a ragtag bunch of short fat guys made up this team when Butch took it?

No one is even talking about the injuries. This team is down at least five starters -- Jackson, Gaulden, Pig, Maggitt, and North. Name another SEC school down almost a quarter its starting lineup. Please name another??

This fan base absolutely gets what it deserves and will continue to. We're now on our second decade of irrelevance. Does anyone really think after all these years that the whining and crying helps? Really? You don't think for example the way this fan base treated Jonathan Crompton played into Lane Kiffin's comfort in walking out?

Stop being so negative. Give Butch a chance.

He did...I believe he said before hiring DeBoring from his intensive job managing the pool at Michigan that the search would be extensive to bring in an OC with the best talent.



"We’re going to get the best coach for Tennessee. I can assure you that you’ll get the best of the best.”


I think we see how that worked out.

LOL remember how all the other SEC fanbases defended Dooley? Other fanbases have been critical of Butch until recently. I wonder why all the sudden they're on board with him?

It didn't seem to hurt Florida, or Michigan, or Ohio State when they canned Tressell. Ohio State will never recover from getting rid of Tressell. That coach even won a National Title for the Buckeyes and now look at the poor state of Ohio State. Gator fans are also now in regret over the hasty decision to can Muschamp.

I guess UT should have kept Dooley so it wouldn't have killed the program.

Two things...

From the post... "Butch Jones has made your program revelant again." We're f'n 2-3 (most likely 2-5 in a few weeks) but yeah... We're totally relevant again.

That wasn't a Gator fan. There was way too much passion in the last few paragraphs. The person that wrote that is a Teennessee fan.
