Facebook Help Needed

Long story short: my wife had her account majorly hacked. I was able to freeze the old account but cannot recover it and change her email back.

Does anyone have any idea how to actually contact tech support at FB? I'm incredibly frustrated and have spent a few hours online with no success.

Just cancelled mine. Took 30 days. Man, I scoured the internet. I wasnt able to contact anyone.

My sister just went through that on Instagram. She finally just gave up and started over.

Godspeed. Happened to my wife and took almost a month to get it back. No support to offer, only the same digital methods over and over. The recovery methodology they offer is very buggy. Make sure to turn on 2FA when you get it back.

Young girl at work, age 21, had her Instagram suspended till she could prove she was over age 13. She looks quite young. She was ticked to high heaven.

SUCCESS! I found an amazing series of videos, and I was finally able to get to a screen that allowed me to input a new email, get a verification code, then upload a photo ID for confirmation. It is INSANE that FB doesn't make that accessible.

If anyone else ever needs help, here is the guy's YT channel. He helped when nothing I did worked.

They donā€™t accept any phone calls for support, if you call either of their numbers you get a recording that will walk you through steps and eventually direct you to send an email, however response to the email isnā€™t assured either. Their help center online is your only real option.

People who use social media like that are morons. I basically have FB to see pics of friends and patients and their kids having fun or to share some of our own adventures.

I'm sure that's true. Most people aren't the problem with those platforms. It's a small group that abuse/weaponize them and make them dangerous. The negative parts of them started out weighing the positive a while ago for me. Instagram is the only one I still hold onto(to see folks pictures) and I police who I follow like it's a totalitarian state.

The funny part is, they all depend on your friends list and who you choose to follow.

I had to switch to Safari instead of Chrome and it worked perfectly.

Within 10 minutes of submitting the code and photo ID, her account was restored.
