As I just posted somewhere else... you're either extending a football coach to keep him under contract for 4+ years or you're firing him.

That is quite possibly the worst logic I have ever heard in my life. Only in college football does that make sense, every player knows it’s a business and every coach not named Saban or Swinney has the potential to be replaced at some point.

He appeared to be turning the corner at the end of last year.
Still wasn't enough for that raise and extension after that poor start. If we had won the SEC Champ I may have at least been ok with it.
Should have been at least 2yrs in a row of good football before that offer was made.
Phil screwed up

Jedi mind tricks from this guy

Note to UTAD. Refuse to even consider hiring anyone using this guy as an agent in perpetuity. Put an end to his nonsensical contracts and provisions in them divorced from good market principles. No more rewarding bad behavior and/or results.

90% of you complaining about this, now, were applauding this during the "winning streak."
How?! The stupid extension came in Sept. of 2020. First thing I thought and said was, “why?!?! He’s just entering his 3rd year and hasn’t proved anything.”
