I talked to a friend yesterday he heard an expert from espn radio say that Tennessee will end up with a 6-6 record for the 2009 season. Is this fair, flat out ridiculous or a Vol hater/ Kiffin Hater talking? For the most part I'm glad they have low expectations. I like proving people wrong.

Guess it's a consensus then that we'll be better than last year even from the haters

I think it is fair. I see between 6 and 8 wins.

We should beat:
WKU
Ohio
Memphis
Vandy
Kentucky

Toss Ups:
Ole Miss
Auburn
Georgia
UCLA
South Carolina

Tough ones...probably losses:
Florida
Bama

there is absolutely no reason at all that we should lose to Auburn or UCLA...

those are must-win games IMO.

I say 9 wins next year. I think our coaching staff is too good for anything less. We will have some speed and talent on offense this year. The strength coach said that this team when he got em were way to big and not fast enough. I bet this year we dont look so slow on offense.
Our Defense was 5 in the country last year and we really did not lose to many players on defense that really matter anyway. Plus we got Monte coaching instead of Chavis!
QB will be crucial but I really believe that the QB's we have can be good enough to get us some wins with the right help and offensive system. Last year was a fluke with Clawsen! Our whole offense looked lost! Its time to go back to what worked before and make it better this time!

I don't think UCLA is a toss up - and I would give us an edge over Auburn and a slight one (very slight) over USCjr.

Kind of sad that two of the toss up games you have listed should be easy victories...UCLA and South Carolina...Carolina has been our whipping boy for years and there is no reason in this big wide world that UCLA should even be able to stay on the same field with us...Anytime

Due to our home schedule I believe somewhere between 6-8 wins. If the over/under is 6 then picking the over seems safe.

I would think UCLA and Auburn (instead of USCe) would be sure wins.

Yeah call me an optimist but I do believe that we will finish either 8-4 or 9-3.

Definite wins:

Western Kentucky
UCLA
Ohio
Memphis
Vanderbilt
Kentucky

Toss ups but we probably should win (plus they're all home games):

Auburn
Georgia
South Carolina

Tough road games that we will most likely lose

Florida
Ole Miss
Alabama

I really do believe that we take care of home field this year.

I said 9-3 was possible and Im as much an expert as those clowns at ESPN. I bet they picked Michigan to go undefeated!
